CIA maintains 12 secret bases in Ukraine, CIA head was in Kyiv last week – NYT

The US’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) maintains 12 secret bases in Ukraine along the border with Russia, and last Thursday CIA chief William Burns made his 10th secret visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Source: The New York Times, based on more than 200 interviews with current and former officials in Ukraine, the United States and Europe

Details: The NYT reports that before the full-scale war, the Ukrainians proved themselves to the Americans by collecting intercepted data that helped prove Russian involvement in the downing of the Malaysia Airlines jetliner in 2014. Ukrainians also helped Americans prosecute the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 US presidential election.

Around 2016, the CIA began training an elite Ukrainian special forces unit known as Unit 2245, which captured Russian drones and communications equipment so that CIA technicians could reverse-engineer them and crack Moscow's encryption systems. According to the NYT, one of the officers in this unit was the current head of Defence Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov.

The NYT reports that the partnership between the CIA and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) began in late February 2014, when former president Viktor Yanukovych fled to Russia. This cooperation was proposed by Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, who became the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

(snip)

Recently, however, with the delay in the approval of the US aid package, Ukrainian intelligence officials have been asking their American colleagues whether the US is about to abandon them.

Speaking about Burns' visit to Kyiv last week, a CIA spokesperson said: "We have demonstrated a clear commitment to Ukraine over many years, and this visit was another strong signal that the US commitment will continue."

Interesting read. For as much as what is said, (and intrestingly taking a page from Siviet days Pravda) what is not said.

Question is, why is the see eye aaay allowing this to be printed? Influence Congress before a changeover? Maybe reduced clout of Epstein's client list and a restless electorate in an election year where rigging the vote might not work?

The US government does not care about the Ukraine.
The US government only cares about the US government.
Which is why the US government is in the Ukraine. Getting stuff done. Beyond the reach of those annoying US laws.

CIA has become a dangerous rogue agency that answers to nobody.

A real-world threat to America and the world.

After realizing that Ukraine's intelligence agency could be an asset to the US, the CIA agreed to support Ukraine, which initially came in the form of communications supply and training, the Times report said.

But the spy agency also had misgivings about the partnership, partly because it did not want to cross a boundary that would provoke Russia...

"We made a distinction between intelligence collection operations and things that go boom," a former senior US official told the Times.

This is called a limited hang-out. You come clean - well sort of and admit that you were there, but hey, we were not responsible for what happened. You do this when it is all about to come out anyway.

But, apparently, the line was crossed and things did go boom.

Who authorized US bases on the Russian border? Who approved the funding for this garbage that pokes the Russian Army in the eye? Why the hell is the CIA budget secret? Who the hell do these bureaucrats think they are??

It was shot down by the Russian supported separatists, and fell into territory they control. This has been well documented. As far as a reason, I assume poor command and control, plus simple incompetence.

:: Beyond the reach of those annoying US laws. ::

It is more than the CIA.
It is the entire DoState and the “diplomatic corps” overseas.
The Senior Executive Service.
The Dark State.
The Keystone.

Imagine you are a US military attache in a London hotel room, speaking on the phone with a CHI in Paris.
The CHI tells you he has info that compromises Senator Grassley (R-IA) from his last overseas trip.
You have the authority of 10-million dollars and you negotiate 8-million with the CHI.
You knowingly, will keep the other 2-million.
The transaction takes place in a Brussels train station.
Were there any laws broken if you keep the 2-million in Swiss Francs?

The diplomatic corps only needs to follow US laws and the Constitution while on US soil (Embassy grounds).
Other than that, they need to follow the laws of the soil they are on.
Not including “diplomatic immunity”.

So it wasn’t suicide by the pilot? Or am I getting two different flights confused?

Anyone in the Russian government would have to be retarded if they DIDN’T assume Ukraine was crawling with CIA operatives. In fact, it’s a safe bet to treat the entire country as a CIA construct.

The CIA has run approximately 80 coups around the world (not including the two American governments they overthrew). Millions of innocents have died. The CIA overthrew the legit Ukrainian government and is responsible for all Uke and Russian deaths since that particular coup. I believe the running total of Syrians who have been killed in the CIA engineered civil war in Syria is 600,000. U.S. imperialism, since the fall of the Soviet Union, has been the most destabilizing, evil force in the world. The world, excluding our corrupt European client states, is now very aware of that fact. Comeuppance will be a real bi+ch for us when it comes.

What fraction of the Ukrainian agents were actually Russian agents? Experience in the past shows they were either KGB or useful idiots [to the Russians].

"Comeuppance will be a real bi+ch for us when it comes."

That's the part I don't like.
Especially when you contemplate how much of a role they may have had (among others) in 2020 in the US, the way they regard the people they supposedly are supposed to be protecting as the enemy.

Even dogs, if they can help it, don't soil where they sleep.

Another CIA war, just like Viet Nam. They have their little illegal money making activities set up, like drugs, child prostitution, just like VN. When will we disband this sick organization?

Two different flights. The suicide by pilot was a flight Kuala Lumpur to Beijing that he somehow hijacked. The shoot down was an Amsterdam to Kuala Lumper flight. Both Malaysian Airlines flight incidents took place the same year.

Facing Catastrophic Consequences New York Times
Now Outlines Construct of Ukraine as USA Proxy Province

February 26, 2024 | Sundance | 11 Comments

I find it very interesting this report surfaces in the New York Times and not The Washington Post first.  This material distinction showcases the motive for the outline is heavily domestic in nature; meaning, the core of domestic USA politics (specifically the White House) needs to admit that Ukraine is a proxy province in order to retrigger support for policy.

[Inside Baseball] – Watch the responses to this report from CNN (State Dept) carefully and watch the responses from WaPo (CIA/Intel).

The more subtle and/or quiet the response(s), the more certain these influence institutions were collaborating on the material report to the New York Times.

The White House is admitting the CIA and larger IC apparatus, which includes the State Dept., has been heavily controlling all activity in Ukraine for the past decade.  The only reason to admit this now very publicly is because they are losing voter support.  THIS EXPLAINS WHY BIDEN IS CALLING FOR A WHITE HOUSE MEETING!!

The US’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) maintains 12 secret bases in Ukraine along the border with Russia, and last Thursday CIA chief William Burns made his 10th secret visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The Times is now reporting the USA (State Dept.) was responsible for the coup in Ukraine (color revolution) and took control over political operations in 2014.   We have long suspected this; many have reported exactly this reality; however, this is the first time it has all been admitted.

(NYT) – The C.I.A.’s partnership in Ukraine can be traced back to two phone calls on the night of Feb. 24, 2014, eight years to the day before Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Millions of Ukrainians had just overrun the country’s pro-Kremlin government and the president, Viktor Yanukovych, and his spy chiefs had fled to Russia. In the tumult, a fragile pro-Western government quickly took power.

The government’s new spy chief, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, arrived at the headquarters of the domestic intelligence agency and found a pile of smoldering documents in the courtyard. Inside, many of the computers had been wiped or were infected with Russian malware.

“It was empty. No lights. No leadership. Nobody was there,” Mr. Nalyvaichenko said in an interview.

He went to an office and called the C.I.A. station chief and the local head of MI6. It was near midnight but he summoned them to the building, asked for help in rebuilding the agency from the ground up, and proposed a three-way partnership. “That’s how it all started,” Mr. Nalyvaichenko said. Source: The New York Times, based on more than 200 interviews with current and former officials in Ukraine, the United States and Europe.

The report tries to paint various Ukraine officials as the originators of the operation to use Ukraine as the tip of the spear against the Russia construct; however, it doesn’t take a deep weeds walker to realize that part of the narrative is needed to protect the U.S. foreign influence policy from public ridicule.

The White House needs support for their Ukraine proxy.  The public opposition to that continued policy agenda is a problem.  The politicians are caving to pressure from the people.  The IC needs to change the narrative urgently; thus the admission takes place.
