Normally if the thug had a hammer... he would be consider armed.... but not in a liberal blue city with pussy footed DAs. But the shot in the butt is bad news for the employee it the thug was actually running away.

One of the jewelry stores we have used in the past has an electric locking front door.
You have to buzz to be allowed in and can’t egress out until staff unlocks the door.......I really don’t understand why more jewelry stores don’t adopt that safegard.
