There is a multiple problem here. First is the difference between a psychopath, who is “born that way”, and will remain that way, and a sociopath, who is trained to be that way from a young age, and might be able to be deprogrammed.

Second is that psychopathy is a “spectrum” mental condition.

People who are just a little bit psychopathic, and are not always that way, are much more capable in society.

Those with even more psychopathy are often seen as great leaders and excellent bosses. People vie to become and remain their subordinates, and remember them very fondly.

With greater amounts of psychopathy, they become like Bill Clinton and cannot resist their impulses, often becoming con men and ripoff artists. All their emotions are forced, and they have zero empathy for others.

Finally there are the extreme psychopaths, who torture and kill animals when they are young, and people when they are older. The TV show Dexter portrayed them well.

I will agree that much more research needs to be done on female psychopaths, especially distinguishing their actions from normal behavior.
