An appeals court judge Wednesday denied a request by former President Donald Trump to pause enforcement of the $454 million judgment he was ordered to pay in his New York civil fraud case.
But Judge Anil Singh’s ruling in Manhattan Supreme Court allows Trump and his two adult sons to stay in control of their companies while the former president seeks to appeal the massive fine.
The Trumps can also continue to apply for loans from financial institutions chartered or registered in New York during this time, the judge ruled.

As I understand it, Trump can appeal no matter what. But, without the bond, the court will seize his properties. They can then begin to sell off his properties before the appeal process is complete. Jonathan Turley and even RAT SCOTUS attorneys say this judgment will not stand. So, he will have the fine reduced or vacated on appeal at some point. It would seem that a judge knowing what is coming at some point will prevent the State from selling off Trump's assets. If that does not happen, Trump cannot sue the State, but the State must return the money it got from selling his properties. Is that correct?
One article I read and a point I believe Truley made also indicate that not securing a bond from a bank that does business in NY prevented him from posting the total amount. Also, having the properties managed by the state-appointed receiver prevents the Trumps from taking a loan against the properties as they no longer control them. Now they are back in control of their business; they can use those assets as collateral for a loan from a bank certified in NY State.
Trump can now secure a bond for the entire amount from any bank, making it possible for him to obtain one. So, while I disagree with the judge, he is only the first step, and he has at least made it possible for Trump to stop the seizure of his properties. Is that correct?
Trump may or may not prevail in New York State, but this fine is so egregious that I suspect it will end up in Federal Court. While rare, it would not be the first time SCOTUS took up such a case. Somewhere along the way, someone will split the baby. At the Federal level, they may vacate the sentence, but it is also likely the State may lower the amount to a level Trump will pay to clear the books.
If the banks value Trump properties at a higher value than Trump does, will the bankers be indicted?
If Trump does get back in office (I really doubt that the Deep State will allow that to happen), his second term will probably be worse than the first in terms of constant harassment from the courts, the media, and the Democrats and RINOs in Congress. If he is found guilty in one of the state kangaroo courts, can he be ordered to prison even if he is President?
WHEN TRUMP WINS-—IT WILL NULLIFY THE FINES.
The DOMINO EFFECT is already happening.
LARGE INVESTORS have proclaimed they are NO LONGER doing any NY BUSINESS.
IF TRUMP PREVAILS——THEY CANNOT KEEP ANY OF HIS MONEY OR ENFORCE ANY OF HIS “SHALL NOT DO BUSINESS” CRAP.
They do not get to have a’runner up” prize.
Since a state is a party, I believe the US Supreme Court has potential jurisdiction as with the historic civil rights cases.
AT LEAST THOSE LEGAL FEES WILL BE DEDUCTIBLE FROM HIS INCOME
NOT sure about all the “FINES”.
Dear NY legislator:
Modify your law to permit an appeal.
If you don’t, and if I become President again, I will adjust the federal funds spigot as best I can. Can you say Sahara?
Dear NY legislator:
You know what you need to do. Do it quickly.
‘Essential’ Federal Funding Bill
In line Article IV, Section 3, New York State counties to the north of Sullivan, Ulster and Dutchess counties shall be made available to Canada for purchase for the sum of $100 billion US dollars payable in face value US Treasury bonds until the end of 2024. Legal transfer to be January 20th, 2025 at noon.
Almost all real estate in the area would double or triple in value.
The new provincial legislature would probably be conservative.
Come 2020, New York State would lose electoral votes.
“If he is found guilty in one of the state kangaroo courts, can he be ordered to prison even if he is President?”
Only if impeached by the House and convicted in the Senate.
2030
Amongst the talking head TV news pundits, writers and podcasts talkers, NO ONE has said what he can do for free. Well, almost FREE. Here (in Texas) it would cost maybe a hundred bucks (filing fee; it was $25.00 back in the day).
But, he can wait until the last day and file bankruptcy. That STOPS EVERYTHING and puts Engoron and Tish on a 90 day hold no matter what. Plus, it get’s the whole matter out of State Court.
I’m a developer of 50 years and I have done this. In my case, I pulled the bankruptcy down in about a week. I think the whole exercise cost me about $500.00. No creditor would blame him and it would not hurt his credit long term. I’ve made a hundred loans since then and not one creditor has even brought it up.
In my case, I did it because a judge denied my motion for continuance in a very important piece of litigation. Ultimately, I prevailed in the litigation too.
Feel free to send this to your Congressional ‘representative’:
‘ESSENTIAL’ FEDERAL SPENDING BILL
....
The Treasury shall withhold payment of all funding under current federal law to the State of New York, the City of New York, the City of Buffalo, New York County, Kings County, Queens County, Bronx County and Erie County and pay it instead to Donald J. Trump upon his application at any IRS office in the State of Florida until he has received $550 million in reallocated funds.
Payment he shall so receive shall be free of federal revenue imposition.
The banks might also sue to recover Trump’s “ill-gotten” gains as soon as New York State gets them.
Everyone is entitled to one appeal. His appeal will be with First Department. This is not the highest court in nys. The highest court is the nys court of appeals. He has 30 days to submit appeal paperwork. The interest rate in nys is set at 9 percent. He will seek a stay order.
How? This is a NY state case, if he is reelected he would still have no authority over NY.
It is working pn Fabi
It’s the same country.
But we’re no longer a republic.
