Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt called the findings 'shocking'
A staggering 27% of Americans would consider it "at least somewhat acceptable" for a close family member to support the Hamas terror group, according to a survey conducted by the Anti-Defamation League’s Center for Antisemitism Research.
The study, which was released on Thursday, also found that just under 24% of Americans hold antisemitic beliefs, which is up from 20% in 2022. The ADL found that 23% of Americans have a close friend or family member who "dislike Jews."
"In total, more than 42% of Americans either have friends/family who dislike Jews or find it socially acceptable for a close family member to support Hamas," the ADL wrote to summarize the results.

If I found out a friend harbored hatred for Jews or supported terrorism they would cease to be my friends with alacrity.
CC
huh? late 50’s and I have never in my entire life met a single person in real life that hated jews.
Well, American morals and ethics have really gone in the toilet over the past hundred years when everyone kept leaving the border doors open. A lot of crap floated in.
I don’t personally know anyone who has any animosity towards Jews. Of course, I don’t hang out with Jew-haters, so there is that.
42% would surprise me a little but probably accurate given the leftist media of late. Prior to the ADL's current management they would break out antisemitic attitudes demographically in their annual surveys. 42% would be consistant with the black community and only a little high for immigrants, I think they polled only Hispanic immigrants. For immigrants, first and second generation dropped dramatically, getting about down to the white population in the mid teens.
I hate Jamie Raskin. Does that count?
not only alacrity...but Quick, Fast and in a Hurry! we must live in a bubble because neither me or wifey know a single person that has expressed a hatred for Israelis and the only terrorists we are aware of are democrat politicians.
The most antisemitism that I encountered was when I lived in New York and,to a much lesser extent, in Pennsylvania.
Amazingly the same percentage as Democrats in America.
It is an outright lie.
Survey conducted by Anti-Defamation League.
ADL transformed itself into a Hard Left political organization at least ten years ago.
I do not believe the numbers.
You can add Chuck Schumer to that list, too.
American Blacks and Hispanics (specifically Mexican) are the two most anti-Semitic ethnic groups in the USA.
Blacks and Hispanics are almost 33% of Americans.
In addition, the Census Bureau classifies most North African and Middle East immigrant Muslims as white - another 3% of potential anti-Semites.
If 10% of white European Americans are anti-Semites, it is quite possible that more than 30% of all "Americans" really are anti-Semites.
They have the wrong friends
I absolutely DO NOT BELIEVE THIS.
Neither do I. Never have. In fact, for a long time I could have been credibly accused of preferring Jewish girlfriends.
Its wrong but yes I do have extended family who support Hamas.
Wow that’s a large spectrum..
Classifying anyone with a dislike for Jews in the same group as folks who support Hamas..
Insane… trying to say these two things are remotely equivalent is just disingenuous.. and shows this to be propaganda.
