A psycho psychologist messed up my mom’s head for years! I hated that man with my whole being because he was instrumental in making our home life a living hell! He put my mom through shock treatments before they were shut down. My mom ended up becoming a manic depressive that took a handful of pills everyday. I got out as soon as I could take care of myself. Go to a psychiatrist? NEVER!!
Yes. A couple of “family therapists” messed up both my parents too. And I am a family law lawyer who has seen nothing but trouble caused by “marriage counselors.” “Life coaches” ripping families apart.

To me, an octogenarian observer, the whole system of paid advisors called "clinical psychologists" is based on false reasoning throughout, thinking that they have command of knowledge and statistics derived from it, but totally lacking in spiritual discernment or wisdom of the ages.
John Dewey and Benjamin Spock are of this class. Of such are the ruination of a vital educational system, one which originally demonstrated achievable goodness outcomes in our nation's growth, IMHO.
