There are Jews, and there are Christians.
The hyphenated term does not reflect any individual person but has a meaning that can be useful.
Your comment reminded me of a Gilette Foamy Lemon-Lime television commercial from decades ago. The gentleman was in the produce section of a supermarket asking the grocer for lemon-limes.
