Murdered Georgia nursing student Laken Riley might still be alive if it wasn’t for sanctuary city policies pushed by former Mayor Bill de Blasio and left-wing extremists on the City Council — who have “blood on their hands,” critics told The Post.
Nearly six months before the 22-year-old Riley was found dead Feb. 22 on the University of Georgia’s campus, her alleged killer Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, was arrested in Queens on Aug. 31 and charged with endangering a child.
However, because of migrant-friendly changes made to the sanctuary city policy in both 2014 in 2017 by de Blasio and the Melissa Mark-Viverito-led City Council, the NYPD had no choice but to cut the Venezuelan-born Ibarra loose — instead of turning him over to federal immigration officials — because he didn’t have any major crime convictions

Athens GA is a ‘friendly city’.. another name for sanctuary city.. and with the college there, lots of young people. What in the world goes thru the mind of a governor that would decide to do things like that!

Just open the border.. how long did it take to make that decision? were there any plans when that open border gave way to all kinds of danger for citizens... it’s treasonous to do what they did with the border.. and exposed the citizens of the US to all kinds of danger.

Governor Kemp did not declare Athens, Ga. a sanctuary city. That irresponsible decision was executed by the socialist Athens-Clark County council. The elected police chief did not ever want to cooperate with ICE.
IMO the police chief and the members of the Athens-Clarke County who voted to make the county and The city of Athens a sanctuary county should be prosecuted along with the alleged killer whom they enabled.
it’s late.. I aimed to say Mayor.. of Athens. I know Kemp did not do that. The press conference with the responsible persons in Athens, was loud and angry. The report said this killer came to GA and lived with his brother. being a ‘sanctuary city’, it is not safe to go walking/running anywhere any time. especially alone.
The man in the news conference was taking a deserved beating from people there.. he defended the friendly city arrangement. he defended too much, that’s why it got loud.
