ATF Chief Tells CBS He’s Willing To Skirt Laws To Ban Guns He Doesn’t Even Know How To Use
The Federalist ^ | MARCH 04, 2024 | JORDAN BOYD

President Joe Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms Director Steven Dettelbach seems to know as much about guns as Democrat-nominated Supreme Court justices.

As ATF head, Dettelbach, who was confirmed in 2022 with the help of Senate Democrats and two Republicans, is expected to understand to some degree the items his agency regulates and enforces. Unfortunately for Americans who have endured a slew of attacks on their Second Amendment rights at the hands of the Biden administration, Dettelbach is publicly ignorant about the guns and gun parts his agency wants to ban.

During his appearance on CBS’s “Face The Nation” over the weekend, Dettelbach outlined for CBS News’s Margaret Brennan the ATF’s desire to ban certain firearms and modifications he claimed are loopholes in restrictive gun laws.

In the sit-down portion of his interview, Dettelbach claimed his 5,000-person agency is “way, way, way too small” to fully satisfy Biden’s gun-grabbing goals. He also admitted the ATF, even though barred from creating a federal database of firearm owners, still devotes its time and resources to “work within that system” and link guns to owners.

When the interview shifted to a demonstration featuring a table of unloaded firearms, Dettelbach tried his best to make the case for more regulation of law-abiding Americans’ top self-defense option. Even with the help of one of the ATF’s “leading experts,” however, Dettelbach failed to demonstrate knowledge of even the most basic firearm anatomy such as the difference between a clip and a magazine.

“We have a table here of scary looking guns.”

“Can I get a clip for one of these things?”

“Well here’s a clip. It’s for the M1. The rest use magazines.”

“I can’t get this loaded M1 clip in the AR15. How does it fit?”

“I think you just have to push it harder.”

What does Steven Dettelbach have in common with Judge Kaplan, Judge Engoron, Merrick Garland, Judge Beryl Howell, Shenna Bellows (Maine Secretary of State) , Jena Griswold (Colorado Secretary of State), George Soros, Reid Hoffman (financial support for E Jean Carroll), Jamie Raskin and Debbie Wasserman Schultz( co-sponsored legislation to kick Trump off the ballot)?

While I have my doubts on the legality of his agency's actions to 'work with that system', just the mere mention of this makes me wonder if a FOIA filing should be made... which is also scary, because if were to yield what I fear, we wouldn't want any of that in the public arena. So any action to call them to account for something nefarious could backfire.

Wow. What a bunch of nitwits. “They look the same so we’re treating them the same”?? Nothing but idealogues who have no clue as to the material they’re supposedly “experts” on.

Makes you wonder if Slow Joe would hire an “expert” on nuerosurgery who had never been to med school.

Let’s replace him with Hunter Biden who has no experience either. Isn’t that how this works?

““Steve understands that politics must play no role in running the ATF, and his experience and his record bear that out,” said Brown. “He has broad support from across the ideological spectrum, including prosecutors and law enforcement officials who understand what it takes to do the job. I can think of no better way to support law enforcement, to reject hate, and to keep Americans safe from violent crime, than for the entire Senate to confirm Steve Dettelbach as ATF Director.””

In a 48-46 vote, Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Rob Portman of Ohio joined Democrats in supporting the former U.S. attorney.

I saw a clip of this interview on TwiX, and he was pointing at a Barrett M82A1 on the table and said, "If someobody comes into your store, in a border state, and plunks down $12,000 cash money for one of these things (Barrett M82A1), so that there's no credit card trail. You know, I mean, my word, we hope that people will help us as Americans, and continue to help us, and not make that sale, and protect our safety."

Uh, Mr. Dettlebach, even if you pay cash 'in a border state,' you still have to fill out a 4473 and receive a NICS check. That's all the 'paper trail' you demand with "universal background checks."

Fentanyl is what is killing Americans, not guns. More Americans died of fentanyl overdose last year than were killed in the Vietnam War.

For the first time more Black men died of fentanyl than White. That’s how much Black lives really matter to Democrats. They are more interested in the money from the money launderers than they are in Black lives.

I actually know someone who died from fentanyl-laced cocaine. It is a friend's son. I decided to do a little homework on it. It turns out fentanyl tends to attract itself, so when it is distributed in a batch of, for example, cocaine... it will bunch together as the bag is moved around. They call it the Chocolate Chip effect.

So someone will snort some cocaine, then some more, but the next line they do will have a 'chocolate chip' of fentanyl, and it will be a lethal dose.

Glad I got out of that world before fentanyl hit the streets.
