Is there any reporting on the percentage of independents and democrats who voted for Haley in Vermont? My guess is that independents and democrats are what gave Haley the win in Vermont. All the democrats who voted for her in Vermont will vote for Biden in the general. The independents in Vermont are another story. Trump will get some of their votes - IMHO.

I lived in Vermont for 35 years....and the p[rimary system os open. A democrat or independant can vote in the opposite partys primary without changing any voter registration.
What happened in Vermont is that because BIden was a shoo in with no competition, many thousands oif democrats voted for Haley who were democrats.That is how Haley won Vermont, she was not elected by Republicans. Thats part of why she is dropping out, the REpublicans did not elect her in Vermont, the Democrats did.And she cannot count them as a BIG WIN in this case.It makes her look cheap and bitchy, whichi she is.
Winnning Vermont in this way has assured that this will be Nikki Haleys last venture in politics. SHe has no political future like she could have had if she had dropped out after Iowa.
