I know there are a few around here that think Im insane, but I would say that one of the things Ive noticed with many of the posters on this site is that there is a distinct form of unusually myopic normalcy bias that is praised as wisdom.

This story, like Kennedy’s (John) will hang around for at least 50 more years. McConnell is as dirty as any politician in the history of the Federal Government.

There are several solid reasons for McConnell to be stepping down.
He’s extraordinarily old and should have stepped down before this. This reason only grows.
He’s had highly visible recent health problems involving him freezing during speeches.
The opposition to him has been growing generally.
His strong-arming of Trump has become more visible and it looks like a good chance that Trump is coming back into the Presidency.
