SANTA FE, N.M. — A New Mexico jury found "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter and not guilty of tampering with evidence on Wednesday after deliberating for about two and a half hours.
The 26-year-old faces up to three years in state prison and will be sentenced at a later date. A judge ordered that Gutierrez-Reed be taken into custody and held until her sentencing.
Gutierrez-Reed showed little emotion as the jury foreperson read the verdicts. She took off a necklace before a deputy took her into custody. Her mother, seated behind her, put her hands on her head and bent forward as the judge ordered her remanded into custody pending sentencing.

The prosecution also called out Baldwin, as a “prima donna.”
“Alec Baldwin’s conduct and his lack of gun safety in the church that day is something he’s going to have to answer for ... Not with you not today, that’s for another jury for another day.”

She is now a convicted felon and well carry that brand for life. My money is on Baldwin being able to vote in November.

I recall some reports from the day of the shooting where Baldwin got into a tiff with the decedent and reportedly stated “I’m going to kill you” immediately before pulling the trigger.
And, I honestly don’t doubt he’d say and do that.
That was hard to watch. I didn’t realize the defendant was that young. I figured she had been around that sort of work a long time and was older. It’s a rough row for her to hoe at that age. I feel for her and for her mother I assume, who was in back of her. Rough in any case...hope the judge doesn’t go for the max and follows sentencing guidelines..no other record....

I agree no doubt - once a big mouth, always a big mouth!!! Why should he change when he never had to pay any price for anything he’s done or said before?
BOHICA Baldwin. You hired her. You managed the set, you pointed a firearm at two people, you didn’t check the weapon, you are the idiot that set the whole project in motion , and you applied the trigger pressure to fire a single action colt or clone revolver. I’m 72 years old, I’ve handled firearms for over 50 years and you sir need to do time for your behavior. You are the responsible idiot. Tell bubba hi.
Has Baldwin ever yet been taken into custody
She was a flaky stoner who probably pulled lots of strings to get those jobs.

“Gutierrez-Reed’s alleged misstep happened on the set of the upcoming Nicholas Cage film, “The Old Way” and temporarily halted filming, sources told The Daily Beast.
“She was reloading the gun on the ground, where there were pebbles and stuff,” one source told the outlet. “We didn’t see her check it, we didn’t know if something got in the barrel or not.”
Gutierrez-Reed reportedly handed the gun to child actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong, forcing concerned crew members to intervene, the report said. The gun was then checked for barrel obstruction, according to the sources.
“She was a bit careless with the guns, waving it around every now and again,” a source said.
“There were a couple times she was loading the blanks and doing it in a fashion that we thought was unsafe.”
A “Rust” production source described Reed as “inexperienced and green,” to the outlet, adding that there had been two other incidents of accidental discharges by crew members.”

Juries often get it wrong.
Are not the Producers of the film guilty to some degree for hiring this nitwit?
