They are sure liable civil wise
Likely Baldwin is too
But not criminally
Charging him is a reach
No matter how much we all dislike him here
Baldwin is a gun expert?
Why?
A job on a movie production is firearms props armorer
That job entails procurement and management and loading and safety
She is supposed to hand actors inspected firearms
All actors except those who know guns expect this and rely on the armorer
Actors who know guns may check it themselves but I doubt doofus knows guns like average freeper
She is where the buck stopped and she failed
They had shot live rounds in these guns earlier
And to my knowledge Baldwin didn’t
That’s where the live round got in
And few actors check guns handed them since few know shit
I do feel sorry for her still, though. Like you said, it’s a rough row to hoe.
As ‘Armorer’ , isn’t her whole job just to check things out and assure safety?
Why did she bring live ammunition onto the set?
Baldwin was the executive producer.
Baldwin had to have ok’d the the hire of an newbie and possibly inept armorer.
Baldwin actually knows a lot about guns.
Baldwin knew there were safety and Union labor issues on the set. (early speculation was that someone was trying to sabotage the shooting.)
Baldwin refused to go to the ‘mandatory’ safety class with the armorer.
Baldwin pointed the gun at a person, not at a mirror or the camera
What Baldwin did was not in the script, he was playing around
Baldwin pulled the trigger and then denied it.
Well said.
She was definitely a flaky stoner. A party girl. But she had a very convenient string to pull. Her dad, Thell Reed, is/was one of the top armorers in Hollywood. Tombstone, 3:10 to Yuma, The Quick and the Dead, L.A. Confidential, Django Unchained, Mr & Mrs Smith, Blade, Miami Vice, etc, etc, etc. And he is also an exhibition shooter, and that's a lot more fun. And sometimes requires live rounds. I think Hannah liked that fun part a lot more than the serious job of an armorer. And hanging around movie stars (and getting high with them) is so cool!
Those of us who know armorers from our military days (or police, or even your shooting range RSO), know they are very serious people when on the job. No BSing, no joking, everyone do exactly as I say. They know their job is to prevent someone getting shot, and potentially saving a life. Hannah just wasn't up to that job.
Because after hours, they were partying on the set. Drinking, smoking and firing the "prop" guns with live ammo.
She had the best makeover of all time for the trial but it didn’t help her.
Not one of them, Boo Boo, this time.
She should not be the only one. They were running a very
sloppy operation. Baldwin was in a meeting with staff that
very morning addressing safety issues. The staff didn’t
think they took it seriously.
Baldwin the actor should have been trained not to accept a firearm from anybody other than the armorer. When the assistant director tried to hand it to him, he should have realized that safety protocols had broken down. Baldwin the producer should have taken immediate action to determine how it was possible for his armorer to be missing.
I've supervised the design, installation, and operation of a safety system with potential for extreme harm. ANY failure of the system to perform as intended was a VERY BIG DEAL.
She was a diversity hire and probably should never have had that job.
The jury saw otherwise.
Once again the janitor gets the blame, we got some one! while the culprit gets away with murder. When is the trial of the “gun” going to be scheduled? Probably next up until they run out of persons places and things to prosecute. They will forgive and forget alec over time like OJ
My thought too! Changed the color of her hair from blonde to brunette!
Truth!
