This needed to happen because too many gun folk were harboring the delusion that only the NRA could do the heavy lifting.
While I agree with your points, I' wondering if the NSSF is the organization that will best represent gun owners and citizens. As I understand it, the NSSF is a lobbying organization for firearms manufacturers, not firearms owners. I'd be glad to support a group representing gun owners that is not the NRA - are there recommendations?

I used to support the NRA — who could not like Moses?
But I have decided JPFO to be the best bang for the buck.
Plus they don’t send too much regular solicitations.

Gun Owners of America and Firearms Policy Coalition. A pox on the NRA and on Wayne Lapierre, his travel, dining and custom tailored suits. And I say this as a Life Member of NRA.
They have become basically worthless in the fight for our gun rights.

NAGR is pretty good and very solid on 2A issues. (National Assn. of Gun Rights).
For locals, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners is good too.
