Poland's foreign minister says the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine is 'not unthinkable'

Poland's foreign minister says the presence of NATO forces “is not unthinkable” and that he appreciates the French president for not ruling out that idea.

Radek Sikorski made the observation during a discussion marking the 25th anniversary of Poland's NATO membership in the Polish parliament on Friday, and the Foreign Ministry tweeted the comments later in English.

Last month French President Emmanuel Macron said the possibility of Western troops being sent to Ukraine could not be ruled out, a comment that prompted an outcry from other leaders.

Yes, it is unthinkable because it means nuclear war. Russia has ~150M people, it knows it cannot deal with the entire NATO population which is far beyond that. That’s why it has repeatedly warned about falling back to the use of nukes if this happens. Just like it warned what it would need to do if NATO kept pushing aggressively with the coup and plans to incorporate Ukraine into NATO in the first place. Will these idiots please shut up?

Hysterics?

From the article:

“The Kremlin has warned that if NATO sends combat troops, a direct conflict between the alliance and Russia would be inevitable. Russian President Vladimir Putin said such a move would risk a global nuclear conflict.”

What do you mean, "deal with" ?

Are you saying Russia has plans to attack Europe? And NATO is inconveniently standing in the way?

BTW, Putin knows damn well that if he used even 1 nuke, it would (a) immediately bring all of NATO into the war; (b) even China and India, two of Russia's few supporters, have said they would condemn it; any larger conflict would mean the end of Russia (and Putin)

So stop the needless scaremongering ... just another sign of how badly Russia must really be losing, if it has to resort to threats like this

I guess you never have been to Russia. When I was there, I was amazed with their preparedness. Every Soviet built building has a fallout shelter, and Moscow’s Undeground ( Metro) can house the city’s entire population.

Do note Clinton dismantled our entire Civil Defense program, both the US and the EU will suffer massive casualties due to cancelling their programs decades ago.

That said, the sheer size of the Russian Federation all about guarantees their survival, not so with an unprepared West.

Yeah, we know...you're the guy who single-handedly built the mighty Muscovite war machine, right? Which explains your pro-Kremlin posting record on this board.

No one is nuking anyone, at least not yet. If a nuke is let off the chain, it will be in the middle east. And more than likely it will be Israel using it as a second strike weapon if Iran decides to do something.

That is true, but it is also the scary part about this. Russia’s only hope in a nuclear exchange would be a massive first strike. To launch everything they can as quickly as they can. If that were to happen Western Europe and the U.S. would be politically, economically, and culturally destroyed as there is no structure in place to deal with a post nuclear war world. All of the U.S. foreign outposts would become isolated and at the control of the locals. The U.S. would lose far more then Russia.

“Yes, it is unthinkable because it means nuclear war.”

Not good as it means our cities will get destroyed.

...well, let me think about that.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

There are many things to say here...

You say NATO keeps pushing aggressively?
Well... there are 400.000 Russian troops illegally invading Ukraine as we speak. They invaded Ukraine even though the Kremlin has recognized Ukraine being a sovereign country with recognized international borders. Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum in 1994 recognizing Ukraine’s borders which includes Crimea, and that also contained the agreement that Russia would never invade Ukraine.

There are zero NATO combat troops in Ukraine.
Thus, WHO exactly is the “aggressive pusher” here?? Yes, that is evidently Russia.

You are talking about the “coup”. Well that coup was actually done by the pro-russian Viktor Ianoukovytch (then president of Ukraine) who against the vast majority of Ukrainians suddenly trashed a deal he was supposed to sign within days with the EU. He accepted cash from the Kremlin and signed a crazy Ukrainian-enslavement deal with Russia instead! A true treasonous horror-show.
THAT was the moment the Ukrainians went to the streets to demonstrate. Viktor Ianoukovytch ordered his troops to shower the demonstrators with bullets. Scores were massacred.

Viktor Ianoukovytch also asked Moscow to send Russian troops into Ukraine (!) to quell the demonstrators.
Yes, he asked for FOREIGN military intervention to meddle in internal politics! Do you understand the level of high treason that represents?

Luckily the vast majority of the Ukrainian population prevailed against the neo-soviet tyrant. He fled to his friends in.... yes you guessed it: MOSCOW.

He has since then been sentenced for high-treason by the Ukrainian courts.

Ukraine’s ex-president Viktor Yanukovych found guilty of treason. Exiled former leader sentenced to 13 years’ jail over 2014 protests and Russian invasion
