I would have agreed with you if Brett Bair hadn't smugly announced in advance something to the effect of being prepared to challenge Trump and then Megyn Kelley being shown walking down the hall to enter all pro-wrestling style, all grins like the cat that ate the canary. They were quite excited and happy to be the executioners even if Wallace was the one who had passed the sentence.
