Trump's valet who worked at Mar-a-Lago for 20 years comes forward publicly and admits he 'unwittingly' carried boxes of classified documents onto the ex-president's plane and is willing to testify in the Florida case

A former Mar-a-Lago valet who used to ferry insider guests to the former president's private club has come forward to speak publicly about his role in transporting banker's boxers filled with what turned out to be classified information.

BrianButler, identified as 'Trump Employee 5' in Donald Trump's Florida indictment, spoke about moving the material in June of 2022, shortly before he decided to leave employment with Trump.

He is described in it as coordinating the activity with property manager Carlos De Oliviera and Trump aide Waltine 'Walt' Nauta in the superseding indictment prosecutors filed last July, having spoken with federal investigators before Special Counsel Jack Smith's prosecutors filed charges in the case.

'They were the boxes that were in the indictment, the white bankers boxes. That’s what I remember loading,' Butler told CNN in an on-camera interview.

...

He ended up assisting in transporting boxes from Mar-a-Lago on a day Trump and a lawyer met with DOJ officials at Mar-a-Lago amid the agency's effort to secure government material.

'I left Mar-a-Lago. I texted him, "Hey, I’m on my way." He followed me. He pulled out and got behind me. We got to the airport. I ended up loading all the luggage I had – and he had a bunch of boxes,' he said.

According to Butler, the three helped move the material along with Trump family luggage to the airport in West Palm Beach, on a day Trump was making his seasonal pilgrimage to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Butler worked for Trump for two decades, but now sounds disillusioned with the world he inhabited after speaking to federal investigators. He could presumably be called to testify at trial, which could begin this summer if Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon doesn't delay it amid legal squabbles over classified information.

I seem to remember a picture where on the day Trump left the White House there were boxes that had been piled up on the driveway by the presidential records people. They abandoned the boxes that had classified documents in them and left it up to Trump’s staff to move them.

And the fact that the documents were moved is not in question. Only whether it was legal to do so.

All it took was a wave of the hand from the prosecutions consultant.

Smith: Mr. Butler, did you load some white banker boxes onto Mr. Trumps jet on or about June 2022.

Butler: Yes I did.

Smith: Mr. Butler, what was inside the boxes.

Butler: I don’t know. I just loaded the boxes, I didn’t look inside them.

Those boxes?
Weren’t they the ones that had to go back?
To Biden’s garage?
How in the world does anyone know what is in a box, unless they are the one/s who put it in the box?

Trump's valet who worked at Mar-a-Lago for 20 years comes forward publicly and admits he 'unwittingly' carried boxes of classified documents

so what. and that hurts anybody how ?

Tell first how Archives refused to help in the move from the WH...Then clarifies 3 months later when caught.

https://www.archives.gov/press/press-releases/2023/nr23-015

NARA General Counsel Gary M. Stern clarified a response that he had given during his January 31, 2023, interview with the Committee:

I stated at the interview that it was my recollection that NARA had not provided such assistance.

Following the interview, I checked with my colleagues, and I was informed that, in fact, NARA did send staff members to the White House in the final weeks of the Trump Administration to assist with the move of the physical records (including artifacts), in coordination with the DOD team that NARA employed to transport the records from the White House complex to the National Archives. It is my understanding that this support was logistical in nature and did not involve providing records management guidance. In addition, NARA staff provided on-site transition support to the National Security Council. (The transfer of the electronic records was done by a different process that did not necessitate NARA staff to be onsite.)

Read it well. The NARA team didn't do the move, they hired DOD team to do the move. The bold is NARA's get out of jail free card. This whole process left Pres. Trump's ass hanging in the wind. These people really stink

I have many banker boxes that I have used in multiple moves. As far as I know, there is nothing classified in them.

Is there a violation of law in moving boxes of documents from the WH to wherever POTUS chooses?? Isn’t he entitled to keep documents he wants?? What is newsworthy about this story?

I wonder how much he was paid to try to make a big deal about these non-descript boxes.
