JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Johns Creek police say a man tried to steal Xanax pills from a Kroger pharmacy at knifepoint after coming in for what he said was a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine appointment. He tried to rob the same pharmacy two days in a row, according to police.
According to the Johns Creek Police Department, Steven Albert went to the Kroger on State Bridge Road around 2:35 p.m. on March 6.
Albert gave the pharmacy employee his name and date of birth and “was accepted for the vaccination,” but once he was in the vaccination room, alone with the employee, he passed her a note saying he had a knife and demanding Xanax pills, police said.
The employee gave Albert a bottle with five Xanax pills in it and he left, then the employee called the police to report the robbery.
The next day, Albert came back to the same Kroger and employees called the police after a pharmacy technician recognized him from the day before.
Police said Albert attempted to demand Xanax again, this time using his phone, and that the pharmacy technician gave him six pills of Xanax before calling members of law enforcement.
Officers were able to find and apprehend Albert near the Bridge Park Animal Hospital, also on State Bridge Road. When detectives arrived, Albert was arrested for two counts of robbery by intimidation and was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
Where he’ll be released and given a prescription for Xanax
If hes black he’ll walk no charges
Thats Fanny’s county...
Knifepoint? Dude needs to relax.
I didn’t think Pygmy cannibals consumed any medication except for heartburn. I can imagine eating too much human flesh causes gas and acid reflux. /spit
LOL
Fani needs her meds.........................
Returning to the scene of the crime is never a good idea...
John’s Creek is up north side near Alpharetta. This is a very nice area.
Why give him Xanax instead of aspirin? Or some fentanyl would have stopped his bad behavior.
We go in that Kroger all the time. Its a real nice area. In Atlanta crime is everywhere.
Handled all wrong. The pharmacist should have filled a bottle of Xanax with laxatives, and handed it to the fella when he returned. I fsct, have a bottle filled with “Super-Lax” for those instances where the pharmacy gets robbed by anyone.
Or, hand the perp those sugarless hirobo gummy bear candies and tell him it’s a new form of Xanax. The dude will be high, so he won’t question it
My wife asked me to take her to Atlanta next month for a work related conference and told me the address of the hotel downtown. I heard Atlanta and was immediately wary and then I looked up the hotel online and said to her not unless we are heavily armed and this hotel which is allegedly a 4 star hotel has the reviews of a Motel 6 on skid row. Please don’t go to this conference dear was my reply! She decided against it. She had planned to stay at the hotel the entire time because of the crime in and around the hotel. Why would anyone hold a conference in such a setting.
Atlanta is not bad. I think it depends on where you’re staying. I’ve been there a couple of times without any issues.
Cheap venue
I’ve lived in metro Atlanta since 1985. I will not go to downtown Atlanta for any reason. It is seriously dangerous!

The area where that Kroger is located is a far northern suburb not downtown.
My brother and his wife went to a Braves game last summer and got stalked for several blocks as they walked to their vehicle. He picked up on them quickly being paralleled and followed. At one point my brother picked up a piece of steel pipe and carried it a ways maneuvering into areas with light and a public setting. When he got to his car he got out of there and then unlocked his glove box and quickly retrieved his Glock and placed it in the console.
I had a relative who was a police chief in a small town south of Atlanta and he avoided the downtown at all costs.
Truist Park? That sounded more like Turner Field.
Downtown was very much like that, it was scary to go to a Braves game! Truist Park has been much safer in my experience. It is set in a business area with no low income housing.
