Howdy, Kathy.

Looks like it turned out to be a pretty nice day up there.

I reckon you’re ready for an early bedtime tonight. Which will come first? Sunset or pillow time. :-)

Good evening, radu...hope your weather is doing what you want it to do. Nice and sunny and able to open the windows?

The sun is finally shining brightly, and it’s finally above freezing. So dripping is going on, slowly but surely in the daytime. Still teens at night.

Hi Radu, it was a grand time and we certainly are getting early Spring weather, sunny and warming up.

Anything new with you?

Glad to hear your temps are above freezing, though with the frigid nights, it makes things pretty dicey in the mornings. All that melting turns back to ice. Aren’t you glad you don’t have to drive to work every day? Like I have to ask. LOL
Just be careful on the deck when you feed the ducks!

The weather is VERY nice. I got out yesterday to pick up tree trash and burned the pile last night. All that bending over got me, though, and today’s been pretty do-nothing. A shame because today was nicer than yesterday. Tomorrow will be almost hot with the temp close to 80.
Yes, it’s been open windows weather.

Yay! Glad the weather cooperated and let y’all have a blast out there. It’s messed you over a few times in the past.

We’re getting an early taste of Spring, too, but it’s temporary. A front comes through Friday and cools us down again into next week. I have a feeling it’s going to be a wild roller coaster ride all month.

March 14

God Alone Can Satisfy

Bible in a Year :

When Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in [and] said to Jacob, . . . “I’m famished!”

Genesis 25:29–30

A thousand dollars of food—jumbo shrimp, shawarma, salads, and more—was delivered to a homeowner. But the man wasn’t having a party. In fact, he didn’t order the smorgasbord; his six-year-old son did. How did this happen? The father let his son play with his phone before bedtime, and the boy used it to purchase the expensive bounty from several restaurants. “Why did you do this?” the father asked his son, who was hiding under his comforter. The six-year-old replied, “I was hungry.” The boy’s appetite and immaturity led to a costly outcome.

Esau’s appetite cost him a lot more than a thousand dollars. The story in Genesis 25 finds him exhausted and desperate for food. He said to his brother, “Let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (v. 30). Jacob responded by asking for Esau’s birthright (v. 31). The birthright included Esau’s special place as the firstborn son, the blessing of God’s promises, a double portion of the inheritance, and the privilege of being the spiritual leader of the family. Giving in to his appetite, Esau “ate and drank” and “despised his birthright” (v. 34).

When we’re tempted and desire something, instead of letting our appetites lead us to costly mistakes and sin, let’s reach out to our heavenly Father—the One who alone satisfies the hungry soul “with good things” (Psalm 107:9). .

Reflect & Pray

When have you allowed temptation to cost you a great deal? Why can only God satisfy your deepest longings?

Dear God, please help me to remember my spiritual birthright when I’m tempted to sin.

Good evening, Pro...hope your spring is still on track.

We are still trying, but I would never bet on it til ALL the snow is gone.

Remember our troops!
My son loves his recumbant bike, too.
This was when he was at Onziuka AFB
In Sunnyvale, CA., late '90s.
Where he worked in the top secret "Blue Cube" on the base.
Lived in San Jose. It was fun to visit there!

Howdy, luvie.

Those recumbent bikes are weird. Recumbant trikes are even weirder. Both are popular with folks who live on the mountain, close to the museum, and there’s a trail they ride on that passes across the highway from the museum. Several will stop in to take a break and check the place out.

Hey there, radu!

They are strange, and I know I could never get the hang of them, but my son did a lot of riding then and said that it was very comfortable to ride on. I don’t think he has many chances to ride it at the present, but I know he still has it.

Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...is the weather allowing you and Tippy to get out and enjoy the outdoors yet?

Are you still without snow? Can you make it to spring?

I could probably figure out a trike because it wouldn’t fall over while I was getting the hang of it. LOL Been a loooooooong time since I’ve hopped on a bike.
The folks who stop in the museum who ride them all say they’re comfortable.

I have a wonderful Schwinn bike that hubby gave me for Christmas one year, but I haven’t ridden it in years, either. I did ride Piper’s bike a couple of times, but was pretty nervous doing so.
