A year from now, Trump will cut a deal with Putin.
The Donbas will become Russian territory, period, full stop. The rest of Ukraine will become a buffer state, sort of like what Belarus is now. Ukraine will be rebuilt and stay out of NATO, forever.
The dancing queen Zelenskyy will have NO SAY in the matter. He will be lucky that Putin does not demand his execution.
The ONLY other alternative will be for Ukraine to disagree giving up on Donbass and continue fighting the war with no funding from USA, in which case Russia will take ALL of Ukraine territory.
Better half a loaf than none. If Ukraine accepts the terms then they can live another day, with a mostly complete territory and autonomous government. Take it or leave it.
If Trump does that, it will be as great a crime as FDR's giving away Poland and Czechoslovakia to Stalin at Tehran.
