Notwithstanding, Willis still has the case and it will proceed.

Hardly. Out of all the possible (in today's environment) decisions by the judge, this is the most favorable to Nasty Fani.

1) Throw the case out due to unethical behavior that taints the entire prosecution. (Which is actually the most 'fair' and appropriate decision.)

2) Require Willis and anyone from her office to remove themselves from the case entirely, and require all the evidence to be reassessed/reconfirmed.

3) Prosecute her for perjury. (Also a 'fair' and appropriate response.)

Instead, we got a 'pretend to stop your adulterous affair and proceed. Oh, and don't be too obvious about the fact you are only pretending.'

The only factor in the decision that has an actual impact is that she'll need to stop paying her 'boyfriend' out of taxpayer funds.
