An 11-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Chicago while trying to protect his 33-weeks pregnant mother from her 'abusive ex-boyfriend'.
Suspect Crosetti Brand, 37, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing on Wednesday that took the life of Jayden Perkins and left his mother, Laterria Smith, in critical condition.
Brand was Smith's ex-boyfriend and on parole after being sentenced to 16 years in prison for a home invasion.
Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said that Brand had been released on parole just one day before the attack.
Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx said the boy died from a stab wound to the chest while trying to protect his mother on Wednesday morning.
Chief of Detectives Antoinette Ursitti said in a press conference that Brand was 'paroled and placed on electronic monitoring last October'.
'While he was on parole, he threatened the female victim via text and also showed up at her home.
'He was sent back to prison in February for this parole violation.'
Smith had an order of protection against the suspect 20 years prior to Wednesday's attack for repeatedly threatening and attacking her and her mother, per a motion filed by prosecutors in an unrelated case.
His abuse allegedly began in September 2006 after Smith broke up with the suspect. Brand came to her house and threatened her with a gun, firing it in the hallway before leaving.
Brand continued to harass the family, throwing rocks at their window and calling them obsessively. Two years after the breakup, he reportedly punched the mother at a bus stop for dating someone else.
A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, said Smith also had a five-year-old son, Perkins' brother, and lived in the complex with her fiancé.

The only good news of this story is that child killers don’t last long in prison and taxpayers aren’t on the hook for the next 40 years.
My wife speaks often about how much actual damage the various Left narratives have done to society, including that sort of "feminism" which so blithely excuses a woman's culpability in such as this. And underpinned by the idiot assertion that black-on-black crime is not a "thing."
In any truly civilized country that scumbag would be tried, convicted, sentenced to death, and HANGED by the end of next week.

Some men do not deal with rejection by a woman very well; they are enraged by it.
It seems that there are some men who seem to think they own the woman and have the mentality that if they can't have her, no one can. They'll kill her before giving her up and not being able to control her.
Meanwhile, other men can't figure out why women's rights are a thing. Go figure.
Maybe it's because women don't like being used as punching bags and treated like property.

Wrong, Ms Foxx. The boy died by many factors, one is a stab wound, but others are 1) You, Ms Foxx, 2) The boy's mom, 3) Chicago's mayor and 4) Liberal policies that made fathers expandable in the home!!!

There are also some women who are attracted to “bad boys”, for whatever reason. Maybe they think a dude with a lot of tattoos, shaved head, and big muscles is somehow more masculine, more viral, more testosterone. The majority of convicts fit this description. They are vicious animals but still are able to attract women.
I know what I’m about to say is worn out and tired, but “They are getting what they voted for”.
The people of Chicago, all of them including the rich white elites and the poor blacks own their own problems simply because they keep electing officials that are into graft and do not want to fix any problems.
