Not many prople are aware that Stephanopoulos has an uncle that is just a few years older but looks exactly like him. That made it kind of wierd when I met him some years ago.
The surprising thing is that uncle Stephanopoulos, unlike his younger nephew, is a total conservative and big Trump supporter. Good for him.

Yes, I’ve seen the interview. I think he was intentionally walking that fine line, by citing the judge’s finding and using that wording. If he’d gone outside the boundary of that phrasing, Trump would have a case.

You’re exactly right, and the judge threw justice, rationality and common decency out the window with his ruling, but Stephanopoulos can’t legitimately be accused of defamation merely on the basis of making that reference. Fox News was sued because they merely reported Trump’s allegations regarding the 2020 election. That was absurd, and this falls under the same umbrella.
Trust me, I wish George had been careless enough with his wording to provide Trump with a legal case.
