Mark Cuban defended Donald Trump Tuesday after a Democratic lawmaker accused the former president of lying about his net worth. Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) used the hashtag “TrumpIsBroke” in a post on X after the former president’s lawyers told a New York court that the 77-year-old failed to secure the nine-figure bond sum in his civil fraud case despite approaching more than 30 firms.
“Trump claims he is a billionaire. But he can’t pay a $464 million judgment. That means he is lying. How do I know? Math,” Lieu wrote. Cuban, a billionaire entrepreneur and former “Shark Tank” host, came to Trump’s defense In a lengthy response to the Democratic congressman, arguing that “Net worth is completely different than cash in the bank.”
“Ted, you know I’m no supporter of Trump. That’s for damn sure,” Cuban, 65, began his post. “How anyone can vote for someone who has so many of his executive employees turn on him, and, say he is incompetent is beyond me.”

Very few of the billionaires are billionaires in liquidable assets. The banks, assuming that they aren’t under political pressure to not loan him money, are simply assessing his ability to pay back any loans at 77 years of age.
Not exactly flattering, but it is good to see people who know what they are talking about check opportunistic and political BS when they see it. Twitter/X was I guess a great place for bubble people to be snarky and mean - now maybe the marketplace of free speech and free exchange of ideas will serve to increase intelligence and civility.

True, there are quite a few DC critters who have turned against Trump, but they are not the same people who work in various places and levels within Trump’s business empire.
His personal pilot and personal flight attendant on his 757 have been with him for decades. Trump employs tens of thousands of people, and I’m guessing they’re not complaining.
Cuban said things about Trump that, if true, are disappointing.
I haven’t heard the case against Trump in any detail. Maybe there’s a solid one.
Trump gets to defend himself before I decide on Cuban’s claims.
But Cuban needs to explain why he’d vote for Biden. Is it because of the liberals’ position on issues such as the border, energy, the environment?
