GOP Sen. Todd Young won’t vote for Trump and pines for a ‘principled’ conservative
Washington Examiner ^ | 3/19/24 | Emily Jacobs

Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) is holding firm on his commitment to not support former President Donald Trump in the November election as he locks up the Republican nomination.

Young split from the former president after he refused to accept the results of the 2020 election, though he voted against impeachment. He pledged not to vote for Trump again in 2023 over his conciliatory tone toward Russian President Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine and has remained undeterred by the wave of endorsements from his GOP colleagues.

“I won’t be voting for Biden. I also won’t be voting for Trump,” Young said in an interview on Monday. “So, does that mean I leave it blank? Does that mean I identify another conservative who’s almost certain not to be the next president of the United States and write them in? I haven’t decided that, and I think that’s a largely unimportant point. I don’t know who goes in that line, if anyone.”

A "principled conservative" like Jeb Bush, I suppose.

But of course Todd Young is untouchable as he was safely re-elected in 2022.

So the arrogant oligarch can do and say what he wants without any comeuppance or fear.

Watch for this to be his final term and his voting record to get worse and worse. His CR Liberty score is ALREADY at 52%.

One who thinks the marxism in this country is a danger, one who thinks getting our manufacturing back from China is important, one who thinks protecting our borders are important, one who thinks endless wars around the globe are bad, one who thinks Israel has a right to defend itself and exist. If only there was one like that right Todd.

He’s a Pence ally. No reason why he would support Trump.

Is Young an acolyte of Traitor Pence?

The reality id that Trump is an outsider who has come into the country club with his own renovation crew and money.

Young is a real loser. All the years RINOs like him had the support of the conservatives, whose choice was a RINO before any demonkkkrap. They would buy some of the RINOs lies to keep a bemonkkkrap away from the levers of power.

Now when it is time to step up to the plate and support the party from which he personally has reaped the benefits and security, he is like the crybaby on the playground who takes his ball and goes home telling his mommy that the other boys don’t play fair.

I am glad to see the RINOs being put out into the street. They are incapable of understanding then acting on what is really going on in the country that used to have a constitution.

Jacob Javits took the same position in 1964, said he voted for neither Goldwater (who had supported Javits in 1962 reelection bid) or LBJ (whose policies he mostly endorsed)? Still he has the Javits Center named for him!

Trump is analogous to Rodney Dangerfield’s character in Caddy Shack.

“His CR Liberty score is ALREADY at 52%”

With a score that low, he ain’t Conservative.
He is just another RINO pretending to be Conservative.

Young was basically only job while in the House was to make sure Boehners tumbler of Jameson was always full.

in 2016 his subservience to GOPe was rewarded by a promotion to current position of high-priced whore in Mitch’s (aka Chucky’s bitch) stable

Yeah, well, I would have voted for Al Czervik, too.

I agree COMPLETELY!!!

He was not welcome by the elites in the Country Club, because he was an “outsider”. A nouveaux riche cretin.

That’s why I love Donald Trump. Fundamentally, he’s one of us.
