Okay, a state issue, yes, but the federal government is involved. It allows, encourages, and in some cases pays for abortion, it promotes it overseas. So, yes, fair and necessary for president to say what the national role and stand is.
Can this be done and still allow state-level choices?
And for Republicans, any time this is on the ballot, they lose. A sobering point to consider.
Congress had 50 years to do something like that and never did.
This is why I’m having a hard time choosing whether or not to vote for Trump again. I live in Texas. The only abortion allowed here is in case the mother’s life is in danger. I’m happy with that.
He’s not discussing anything of the kind.
His stance still seems to be negotiate and get something most people can agree with.
Beware journalists and editors attempting to push their narratives.
In France the law is 14 weeks and its considered a victory for “women’s rights”
The 15-week Mississippi law John Roberts got upheld is called “anti-abortion” and “anti women’s rights” by the usual suspects.
But in the Dobbs decision the five justices other than Roberts and the liberals gave states the ability to limit abortions earlier in pregnancy.
This is what Trump wants to reverse with a federal law.
Looks like Lindy Graham got to him.
Trump should stay with the correct approach, that it is not a federal matter and should be left up to the states. Period. You can argue later about federal funds etc. Thanks to Lindsay Graham’s touting a “national ban” right before the 2022 elections, the red wave disappeared and the red dribble was all that was left. It could happen again. National GOP, stay the he!! away from it.
Hush little one.
We are enjoying the sound of Trump Winning.

Trump is going to make pro-lifers want to sit home in the same way that Biden is doing with Israel and Muslims.
There should be no national law as abortion is a state issue. And inside the states, the Republican party should keep its promises to Christians and work for no exception bans from conception.
It’s really awful seeing Trump go for Linda Graham’s pro-abort position. It galls me that Rhonda Santis had a more conservative view.
This is a third-rail issue and he needs to step away from it. The SCOTUS ruled it’s a states rights issue. He’ll lose if he goes that way. Take it off the issue off the table.
