I’m sure that if they could, the residents of Western Maryland would rather be annexed to West Virginia or Pennsylvania. They are way more like those states than they are to Central Maryland. I believe the Eastern Shore would rather be part of Virginia, and possibly the lower two counties of Delaware as well.

No he won’t. From our perspective, he’ll be a 65-70 percenter, which is better than a zero percenter.
Maryland is not as hopeless as many here assume. It has three counties that are hopeless. The rest of the state is purple to red.
It’s like Illinois, which is competitive apart from Chicago.
I am not going to knock Hogan. Its the best you can do in Maryland. He did well for the state when he was gov, with the garbage state legislature.

It would be unusual if Hogan became the 51st “GOP” senator. Then he could be the “Susan Collins of MD.”

The point is not to have 51. The point is to have 55 or even 60 so if aces republicans revolt, we’d still have the votes to get it through.
I don’t know. But going from executive (governor) to one of 100 is a change. It requires compromises. If the GOP gets a majority, he’ll want committee assignments, and whatever agenda he has he’ll have to go along to get along.

True dat. But they are better than the DemocRATS (in Maryland). When he was governor he blocked a good number of tax increases that the Maryland DemocRAT controlled legislature was pushing,

People I meet at work that are the most PO’d are black middle aged moms!
They have kids in high school and are flat out appalled at the direction our county is going.
Several have told me Trump all the way.
BUT I suspect Maryland could easily cheat their way through a revolt.
Grew up in the Chicago burbs. By the time I was in the 3rd grade I knew that dead people voted.
