That’s interesting. In my town - which is definitely not upscale, the apartment building foyers have call boxes. Delivery people have to call the resident and be buzzed in. Cameras are at all entry points and on all floors. Entries in buildings like this require a fob.
I think this type of setup is pretty much SOP in most apartment buildings - like the one described in the article - nowadays.
so you get buzzed in. takes a code for the elevator. resident finds it easier to give code than to come down.
security process keeps honest and marginal people honest. Pretty easy to find a work around.
