Here's a rock ballad about Jussie Smollett.

I clicked on the link and hit play: I didn’t make it past the first 15 seconds!

I forgot who said it, I seem to remember that it was some math professor, somewhere, anyway, he said something to the affect that you can determine the complexity of a lyrical rock tune by the number of different words that are used. In this case, you can extrapolate that concept to the melodic, rhythmic and harmonic content of the piece at that link, and immediately come to the conclusion that what AI generated it is a very simple offering, but replete with the garbage lyrics germane to the current state of rock, and seemingly aimed at the antifa crowd.

I grew up listening to the sounds of the Beatles, the Stones, and the virtuosic brilliance of the jazz legends such as Miles Davis, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Don Ellis, Oscar Peterson, Joe Pass, and Dave Brubeck. In rock, bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Chicago, and The Allman Brothers, and of course Henderix, Clapton, and on bass James Jamerson, Ray Brown, Jack Bruce, and Jaco Pastorius.

As the results of what AI generates is dependent upon the training corpus used, barring coming across something innovative generated by AI, all it appears to be doing is rearranging what is already known, based upon a particular data set.

From what I’ve heard so far, currently AI is not in the same league as any of the above. It may improve, but I have my doubts.
