What’s next now that Speaker Mike Johnson is facing a motion to vacate from Marjorie Taylor Greene

Barely six months into the job, House Speaker Mike Johnson is already at risk of the same conservative revolt that took down his predecessor.

The Louisiana Republican, who only took the gavel in October after weeks of GOP infighting, was put on “warning” by one of his harshest critics Friday after he helped push through a $1.2 trillion spending package with majority Democratic votes despite heavy criticism from his right flank.

During the vote, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., filed a resolution with the House clerk — called a motion to vacate — that would remove Johnson from office if approved by the House. And while Greene did not force the resolution to be taken up immediately, she told reporters she was laying the groundwork for consideration once the House returns from recess in two weeks.

“It’s more of a warning,” Greene said. She would not commit to a timeline for calling a vote, but added, “We’ve started the clock to start the process to elect a new speaker.”

Mike made a deal with the RATs. More money for Ukraine and they vote to keep him.

Can’t believe MTG is in so much trouble over this. She is absolutely right! Johnson was was supposed to allow them 72 hours to read this bill, make amendments to it, etc. and did none of that. They were better off with Kevin McCarthy!

And where is Matt Gaetz in all of this?

And where is Matt Gaetz in all of this?

I'm sure Matt Gatez has spoken to MTG on this matter.

So, which is worse? A republican Speaker who gives the democrats most everything they want or a democrat Speaker?

What are the chances that if Johnson gets removed, the RINOs in the House will help elect Hakeem Jeffries Speaker for spite?

As long as Bidenbarry are in the power seat, Ukraine will be on the receiving end.. Joe took big money from them and is paying it back or be found out. It is on google, Barry has, 5 mansions in and around the US.. A few mil each.. Where did all that come from. The dems are not about to live honestly.. It isn’t in them. And so who applies the stop.. No one yet.

She’s in trouble over it because Mike Johnson isn’t the problem. The MTG-Gaetz-Roy contingent in the House is a tiny fraction of the GOP caucus.

Representative Clay Higgins (R-LA) is defending his Louisiana colleague.

Higgins is wrong.

Our country is disintegrating and it’s because of “leaders” like Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA).

There is no opposition party. The Republican party is beyond redemption. It cannot be reformed. Incumbents win over 90% of elections. The moderates and RINOs outnumber the conservatives 4 to 1 in both chambers of congress.

We need a MAGA party.

GOP are eating their own. Perhaps another tactic deployed stealthly by the rats?

We need a MAGA party.

The only way I can see that it can work is that if a MAGA politican would abide with term limits. That means two years in the House and six years in the Senate. J.C. Watts vowed to serve only three terms. He ended up serving four. And that was it.

And who will replace him? As long as the Dems hold the Senate and Brandon has his magic pen...not much can be done. The economy is too important. Shutting down the government does nothing for anybody.

Get out the vote!!

It’s been that way for decades, FFS! I’d rather have Johnson as SOTH than Hakeem, and with a 1 vote margin, that’s who we’ll get.

And who will replace him?

We'll worry about that later. Let's get rid of Johnson first.

Most Republicans in Congress represent districts that would look like Ukraine if it weren’t for massive government welfare spending.

The monster bill for $60 billion to Ukraine was passed by the Senate. Johnson has not brought it to the floor.
