The FDA has agreed to delete and never republish several social-media posts suggesting that ivermectin, a drug that some doctors used to treat COVID-19, is for animals and not humans.
While the FDA still does not approve of using ivermectin to treat COVID, it settled Thursday a lawsuit brought by three doctors who sued it, as well as the Department of Health and Human Services and its secretary, Xavier Becerra, and FDA secretary Robert Califf. All parties have settled.
The lawsuit, filed on June 2, 2022, was brought by doctors Mary Talley Bowden, Paul Marik and Robert Apter, each of whom claimed the FDA was interfering with their ability to practice medicine.
The case was initially dismissed on the grounds the FDA had "sovereign immunity," though a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit reversed the lower court's decision saying that the "FDA is not a physician."
The appeals court also said that, "Even tweet-sized doses of personalized medical advice are beyond the FDA's statutory authority."
The FDA and the doctors reached a settlement dated Thursday that stipulates the FDA will retire a Consumer update titled, "Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19."
Also, it will delete and not republish an Instagram post reading: "You are not a horse. Stop it with the #ivermectin. It's not authorized for treating #COVID," as well as a Twitter post that reads, "Hold your horses, y'all. Ivermectin may be trending, but it isn't authorized or approved to treat COVID-19."

Ivermectin has long been approved for uses in both animals and humans. For the latter, a topical is used to treat issues involving lice and rosacea, while a tablet is used for parasites, intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis.

The lawsuit was dismissed in December by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Vincent Brown [Southern District of Texas at Galveston], who ruled that the complaints didn’t overcome the FDA’s “sovereign immunity,” a concept that protects government entities from many civil lawsuits regarding their responsibilities. The appellate panel said the FDA’s alleged overstepping of its authority opened the door for the lawsuit.
Willett was nominated to the 5th Circuit by former President Donald Trump; Clement and Elrod, by former President George W. Bush. Brown was nominated to the district court bench by Trump.
What was the Covid death toll in Africa, where ivermectin is used to treat malaria???
Much less that on all other continents.
A: about 2 years.
So in others words FDA simply said, “OOPS OUR BAD” and all is now forgiven.
F*CK the FDA!! Unless officials were fired, this was less than a slap on the wrist with a wet noodle.
NFN but lack of bioavailable Vitamin D in the bloodstream is probably not nearly as big an issue in Africa as in other places in the world.
But yes they wisely shunned the “jab”.
Apologies, I did a search and apparently missed that.
This Guy initially searched FDA and the earlier post didn’t appear. Actually, the search returned no results at all.
Then searched Ivermectin. Paydirt.
Someone needs to sue the FDA for deleting posts. And get a court order that they be restored.
Democrats: "It doesn't matter. They were only blacks, so they are not counted as humans. Pets, maybe, reliable voters maybe, but not humans."
The CDC website now says: We are not doctors or scientists, so we are going to stop making illegal rules.
The ruling is correct but I would like for the names of the members of the FDA that pushed the false narrative publicized. Here they remain anonymous and can continue to spread their filth in the private sector with no punishment. If there are any monetary payouts, the individuals should be held responsible, not the taxpayer.
So who at the FDA is going to swing, figuratively or literally (I have a preference) for instigating the anti-Ivermectin campaign?
A quiet slap on the wrist is not acceptable nor is a temporary letter of reprimand. Millions died ... someone(s) needs to lose their job, pension, and any professional accreditation they have. Employment should become an ‘iffy’ proposition.
Nah, they will get promoted or retire quietly. Look at the IRS targeting tea party years ago. Same pattern here.
Zero.
I have a friend from Ghana. He went home during Covid. When he came back, he was laughing. He said there was no Covid or flu in Sub-Saharan Africa because they take a $.50 pill (HCQ) every week to prevent malaria. Said Americans are so stupid.
Too little too late.
Last text from deceased friend, “I’m waiting for my Ivermectin to arrive in the mail.”
Ivermectin was invented in pill form in 1987. It was used to treat river blindness in Africa.
The man who invented it won a Nobel Prize for medicine in 2005.
Africa did not have many deaths from the Chinese virus.
Not many at all.
FDA CAVES & Will Stop Lying About Ivermectin! w/ Dr. Mary Talley Bowden

The propaganda campaign against Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID was no doubt spurred by the pharmaceutical industry, and serving as Big Pharma’s attack dog was the FDA which repeatedly mischaracterized and misled the public about Ivermectin, in particular spreading the “horse medicine” lie. But now the FDA is being forced to delete all the social media posts badmouthing Ivermectin thanks to a lawsuit brought by physicians who were victims of the FDA’s anti-Ivermectin war.
Jimmy Dore talks to Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a Texas ear, nose and throat specialist who helped successfully sue the FDA, about this critical victory for health freedom.
Not sure Ivermectin would have saved him. It doesn’t prevent it imo. Wouldn’t have hurt tho. I take 12mg weekly for post-covid and post-vaxx anti-cancer protection. I had covid, long covid and a few mild, recurring bouts of it. Ivermectin didn’t prevent them but it may have lessened the severity. I only took 1 sick day over 3 additional bouts. Could have been the vaxx, could have been prior infection, could have been Ivermectin or whatever. I lost a good friend last year to post-vaxx turbo cancer. Fine in June, dead in August.
