Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called on Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Sunday to push for Rep. Mike Gallagher’s (R-Wis.) expulsion from Congress ahead of his scheduled departure next month to allow his district time to select a new representative.
Gallagher, the chair of the House Select Committee on China, announced last month that he would not seek reelection. On Friday, however, he said his last day would be April 19.
His scheduled departure date would leave the House GOP conference with a decidedly slim majority, perhaps for the remainder of the year; Wisconsin election law requires a special election to fill a vacancy if it occurs before the first Tuesday in April of an election year.
In an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Greene blamed Johnson for allowing Gallagher to leave early and said Republicans should work to ensure they can replace Gallagher, whose seat is “solid Republican” according to the Cook Political Report.
Sign-in if you agree.
EXPEL!
We need a vote ASAP. That will flush out the leftover RINOs.
He’s been there several terms. Why not wait 6 months?
I’m starting to think Greene, Massie and Chip Roy are the only human GOP members of Congress
The rest are just deep-state operated GOP humanoid robots
According to Wisconsin law, if Gallagher leaves now there will be a special election.
If he leaves after April 9th, the seat will be vacant until after the November election.
Some Republicans in Congress want the Democrats to take over and will be resigning.
expel him, easy decision with no downside, only upside.
Oddly I recall suggesting that here a day or so ago.
Not surprised MTG isn’t acquiescing to the Quisling SOB’s stunt.
The back stabbing traitor purposely timed it past the special election deadline. MTG is absolutely right. This should happen today.
That would be the smart thing for the stupid party to do.
These RINO traitors are all part of the plan.
MTG is the defacto majority leader
expel him, easy decision with no downside, only upside.
I agree, but the Constitution requires that two-thirds of the House vote to expel a member.
expelled, or executed... traitor!
expel him, easy decision with no downside, only upside.
Yeah, if you’re good with Speaker Jeffries.
YES!!! GO MTG!!! Gallagher had PROMISE....what a DIPSHIT he has turned out to be!!
“Expulsion requiers 2/3rds“
You make a good point the rino traitors could still hide in the shadows. They could vote to expel knowing the rats won’t.
Thanks for the reminder. This does look like the same deal they offered Kari. The only difference of course is that Lake has integrity.
