We didn’t really win the Cold War, and Cicero was correct on the enemy within.
The left, both outside and inside our ‘gates’ did not give up when the USSR fell. They became more aggressive and at the same time more stealth. They were marching along according to their long-term plan to flip the US, and then came Donald Trump.
Prior to Trump, and particularly after Obama, they thought there was no way their efforts to subvert the US could be turned back. They even dropped their facade more frequently, becoming more and more publicly open about their intentions. But they dropped their mask a bit too early, and this is one of the reasons Trump was elected.
Trump showed in a few short years that their future ‘victory’ was not inevitable. Their continuous efforts to ruin him since then is their desperate reaction to their realization that their inevitable ‘victory’ wasn't inevitable.
