RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - In an effort to discourage homeless camps, Washoe County Commissioners voted on a controversial camping ban.
Community members came forward Tuesday morning to speak on the ordinance that would make it a misdemeanor to sleep in a car or tent, or park an RV on county owned property.
“Its unconstitutional to arrest someone who has no access to alternative shelter,” said one resident.

The Supreme Court will also have a hearing to weigh in on whether cities can legally ban or limit unhoused people camping in public spaces. If they vote against this, the current policy will become a moot point.

The right of homeless people, whether mentally ill or not, to park unlicensed and uninsured vehicles, to camp, defecate, litter, vandalize, and occupy public property shall not be infringed.
Is this part of any state constitution?
If they are going to leave it up to the courts to decide, the least they could do is pass an Ordinance making Camping on Public Property permissible within 1000 feet of the personal residence of any Officer of the Court.
Liberal derps hate the constitution right up until they love it.

They’re not homeless...they’re unhoused.
Nevada has been over-run by Las Vegas liberals in state legislature and judge-ships, since the 90’s.
Don’t count on the Nevada courts to save the state from Democrat created economic Armageddon...expect the same type of California style judge corruption and political pandering to prop up Democrat political efforts in Nevada.
The difference is, Nevadans will not stand for their desert wonderland to become a hell on earth and a slave state to any political movement.
Nevadans will vote the bastards out of office, if the judges decide to get preachy.
Remember, this was the Old West, and desert Justice is a REAL thing!
I’m not confident of that. My little street has three Biden/Harris signs, a BLM sign, and “Pride” signs. Also has 4-5 electric cars. All we are missing is for them to invite the area homeless to park their live-in cars and pitch their tends on our street.
I’d move out of that neighborhood...
THEY HAVE BEEN OFFERED ‘SHELTER”
MOST REFUSE BECAUSE THE SHELTER RULES INCLUDE NO DRUGS, etc.
