Seems like boondoggle to me. I'm surprised this is in Indiana, not Cali.

It will cost billions and billions... and be a colossal failure. Watch.

Given the car-exclusive mentality of the commuter lobby and the highway engineers, it will probably be designed to electrocute pedestrians and bicyclists who try to cross it.

How much charging can you do while driving 1/4 mile? Will the highway be safe for people wearing pacemakers?

It takes less than fifteen seconds go a quarter mile. How much charging will that give me?

Well a car going 60 mph over a quarter mile of highway will be on it for 15 seconds. That’s got to be one hell of a charger they are putting in the concrete. And how many EV drivers will get on it and then stop till their car is charged up. I’d get me a lawn chair and a bag of popcorn and sit on the side of the road and watch the show.

Okay, so you log in with your credit card once you turn onto the road? Or is this free?
As I think about this, I see layer upon layer of complication (and cost). Plus, what is the safety factor of this to the people in the cars, to pedestrians, etc. How does it work when it rains or snows?

EMF health effect concerns? Who wants to ride close to that for hours on end?
Remember when it was a huge concern regarding electric transmission lines?

It will be expensive. They will have to dig up roads to install these massive charging coils.
Assuming that it works imagine what it would cost to install this on all interstate highways?
