IDF and ISA troops have completed precise operational activity in the area of the Shifa Hospital and exited the area of the hospital. The troops killed terrorists in close-quarters encounters and located numerous weapons and intelligence documents throughout the hospital, all while preventing harm to civilians, patients, and medical teams.

People are not fungible, and the way they are killed is more material than any estimate number. A Hamas-nik who joyously beheaded infants and had a friend immortalize it on smartphone is not comparable to an IDF soldier in fear of his life, getting shot at by the same terrorist, and firing at something flying his way from around the corner whence the shots came, which turned out to be—not the terrorist, but a Palestinian baby. In both instances, the terrorist is the criminal.
When the dust settles, there will be an audit of all the civilian and combatant casualties, and each will have a name, and a history. When that was done after the 1995 (?) campaign in the Jenin refugee camp, it was discovered that the total civilian casualties over several weeks was—not the 500 thrown into a mass grave that the Palestinians claimed, but a total of 25.

I would applaud the reestablishment of the Gush Katif chain of settlements in the Philippic Corridor of Southern Gaza, but that is it, because (1) they were a buffer against arms smuggling from the Sinai; and (2) they were a source of employment to the Gazans in the surrounding area, and (3) they were forcibly evacuated from their homes in the name of an illusory promise of peace, which never materialized.

I, as Christian, believe that when two groups engage in a war with one another and 5000 children are killed by bombs on one side and 500 children are killed by knives and guns on the other side....since all of the children are uniquely loved by God, the 5000 number is worse.
When you add on top of it that the side killing 5000 children has been incrementally invading the other group's country for the past 75 years...it makes it much, much worse.

And I dispute that allegation. 5,000 children were not killed by bombs. How many, it is impossible to guess at this point, and the Hamas estimates are definitely bogus for the reasons stated in the Tablet article I linked.
