I’ve never read her books, nor have I seen the movie/s. Good rule of thumb, if it’s extremely popular, it’s probably dreck. And I can’t stand the fantasy genre. In bookstores, the fantasy aisle is like the candy aisle at the supermarket, poison in pretty packaging. There are also entire aisles devoted to vampires but that’s another rant.
her books were pretty good, imho. read the first ones with wife and kids, initially. later my wife read the last ones aloud for us. more than a few Christian references woven in. lot of Christians can’t take the witchcraft thing though. books were much better than the movies, as usual. though the movies weren’t bad.
