Squatting trend at tipping point as migrants coach others how to exploit laws; experts warn, 'Damage is done'

Florida recently passed a law that eliminates squatter's rights..

Squatting laws have become a frequent target of exploitation by savvy criminals who fraudulently move into vacant homes across the nation. Experts warn that the problem could be compounded by the ongoing immigration crisis, with migrants catching wind of the laws and taking advantage of them.

"I have thought about invading a house in the United States," migrant Leonel Moreno said in Spanish in a TikTok video that went viral last month. "I found out that there is a law that says that if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it."

...

Squatter laws vary from state to state and even city to city. New York City has some of the most lenient laws toward squatters, allowing people to claim squatters' rights after living on a property just 30 days.

...

The Big Apple’s law has had monumental consequences for a handful of New Yorkers in the last few weeks alone, with one Queens homeowner put in handcuffs last month after trying to force squatters from her home, ... Another woman was killed by squatters last month in her mother's New York City apartment.

...

Republican New York state Sen. Mario Mattera .. pinned blame on Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Eric Adams for not rescinding sanctuary city and state policies in their respective jurisdictions, saying the Democratic leaders have "enabled" migrants.

My son came home from school recently with the idea that squatting was okay, if the owners aren't living in the house, they don't need it, and others should move in because there is a housing shortage and squatter rights outweigh private ownership rights. Unbelievable.

I asked him a lot of pointed questions, denies source of stupid idea. I suggested he watch and see how soon until a squatter is shot dead and their carcass is dragged out of the home.

You won’t be hearing much about this in the great state of Florida anymore. 😏

these people coaching others need to be hit with RICO charges, and then homeowners need to start suing them! That one guy was making big money on his videos, sue him and take it all.

Florida just passed a law that may actually be a good thing for squatters. Now we can call the cops to remove them same day, it is said. Without this law it’s just easier to shoot squatters under the existing no trespassing and stand your ground laws.

Time to get the boyz and gurlz in the House and Senate off their asses and start passing some bills. Better yet, get Pedo Joe off his “You Like Me, You Really Like Me or Else” campaign express and knock out one of his Executive Order specials making squatting a capital offense.

It is home invasion, burglery, and should be treated as such. Home owner walks into home, surprised by criminals, pulls gun and immediately shoots them in self-defense. Calls police as the criminals bleed out on the floor. Jury: Self-Defense.

Some articles say police won’t do anything. Bad sign.

History note:
anti-immigrant protests turned into riots in Philadelphia in 1844; St. Louis in 1854, Cincinnati and Louisville in 1855; Baltimore in 1856; Washington, D.C., and New York City in 1857; and New Orleans in 1858.

And meanwhile those ads for companies to protect you from home title theft say you could lose your house by fraud and still owe the money anyway.

At this rate there will be a lot of homeless taxpaying good citizens around soon. Fighting for tent city spaces on the sidewalks.

“It is home invasion, burglery, and should be treated as such”

That it exactly how it’s now handled BY LAW on Florida.

Florida property Rights” bill (HB 621) has now been signed into law.

Not in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and a bunch of other states.

And yes, I know….you get the govt you deserve.

But not everyone behind enemy lines is a collaborator.

in states where you can sure (castle doctrine states), but in others it might be more useful to go after anyone or any organization that has money and is supporting this.

the solution is EXTREMELY simple: enact Florida’s new anti-squatting law word for word in every state ... of course that will never happen in a million years in blue hellhole states like California, Illinois and New York run by fascist Democrats who have utter content for everyday working citizens because they’re doing everything in their power to replace them with ignorant, non-English-speaking illegal alien peasants who’ll illegally vote for Democrats to get unlimited free stuff ...

They know where to squat. “Try that in a small town” in Texas though.

When your son is out of the house, go into his room and take 3-4 of his most prized possessions. Store them away. Wait for him to state they are gone and simply tell him that he wasn’t using them so you took and sold them. After this discussion goes on for a while, point out it is the same with people’s houses. Stealing is stealing and it is clearly wrong, no excuses, no claim of need or lack of use can justify stealing.
