We got married in Fairfax back in 1971. Was a very nice quiet place, well ordered. Actually all of northern VA was a good place to live. Easy simple driving, nice stores, good place to eat, lots of nice homes, little parks here and there.
We went back there in the mid-90’s, and what a change. It was obvious big government and the democrats were taking over.
Everything the democrats touch turns into a nightmare. None of it is accidental.
Northern VA is so dependent on Federal employment that it’s leftward shift is pretty much a forgone conclusion.
I thought Manassas, VA was pretty crappy even back in 1988.
