'Idaho is becoming redder'
Coeur d'Alene Press ^ | April 7, 2024 | Bill Buley

Posted on 04/08/2024 11:12:38 AM PDT by ProtectOurFreedom

If you’re worried about Idaho becoming too blue, don’t. “This is a red state,” said Secretary of State Phil McGrane. “No matter what you heard from someplace else, this is a Republican state, and I’m sorry for the Democrats in the room. Idaho is becoming redder. It’s just a fact.”

In a 30-minute speech to about 100 Coeur d’Alene Rotarians at The Coeur d’Alene Resort on Friday, McGrane offered voter registration numbers to back up his statement. He said that between 2004 and 2023, 118,639 voters from 49 states moved to Idaho. Of those, 77,089, 65%, registered as Republicans, while just 14,707, 12%, registered as Democrats, and 24,896, 21%, were unaffiliated.

“I’m not surprised to see Republicans are moving to Idaho," McCrane said. “I will say, I was shocked to see just how prevalent it was.”

The only state with more Democrats leaving and heading for Idaho was Vermont.

Idaho has a little more than one million registered voters. The majority, 583,961, or 59%, are Republicans. Only 125,503, or 13%, are Democrats, while 275,329, 28%, are unaffiliated, according to McGrane's charts and graphs. It’s been even more of a red wave of those moving to Kootenai County, with 71% registering as Republicans.

McGrane said when looking at Californians coming to Idaho, 29,510 registered as Republicans, while 3,940 registered as Democrats.

“Yes, it’s true," McCrane said. “The majority of people moving to Idaho are from California by leaps and bounds. Almost three times as many as any other location."

This is great news and I'm happy the data are being reported. Victor Davis Hanson has been saying for quite a quite that the people fleeing ultra liberal cesspools like California are conservative and are turning their destination states redder. This supports Professor Hanson's assertion.

We are in Kootenai County where newly arrived Californians registered 29,510 R and 3,940 D! That is 88% of newly arrived Californians registering R! EIGHTY EIGHT PERCENT.

People want out of the regressive, high crime, high tax cesspools and are NOT bringing their insane policies with them

No, it is not getting redder, just look at Boise and Treasure Valley. Socialist mayor and that is where the population is in the state.

I’m not saying that we’re culling the herd before they register, but...

You can always cherry-pick liberal cesspools to make that argument. As you know, it is always State Capitols and State University towns and a smattering of other urban areas that drive that.

But the data do not lie:

“...between 2004 and 2023, 118,639 voters from 49 states moved to Idaho. Of those, 77,089, 65%, registered as Republicans, while just 14,707, 12%, registered as Democrats, and 24,896, 21%, were unaffiliated.”

Statewide, almost TWO THIRDS of newcomers in ‘23 and ‘24 registered R.

Yep-same for FL and Texas, CA are making them more conservative. Rich Baris of peoples Pundit has proven this before, contrary to the media myth CA moving to states are more conservative than those living there. (What turned Ca blue was the illegal immigrants block voting for Dems)

Risch is up in ‘26. Let’s hope he gives it up. He’ll be 80+.

Once my duties on the California Central Coast are finished, I’m considering Bonner County.

That’s a perfect description of Illinois.

And another set of stats say that a majority of new arrivals are coming from California and are moving to Boise. And Boise has over 20% of the state population. Further, that 10% of the state population is foreign-born by one report (is that still true under Biden?).

FYI, I lived in Boise, Post Falls, and McCall, plus was stationed in Idaho Falls. All told, over 11 of my first 21 years.

The biggest factor in Red vs. Blue political influences is URBANIZATION. Cities invariably end up being leftist dumps for a whole host of reasons.

My rural county just outside Appalachia is redder than ever. Even the small crappy city that is our county seat now has — for the first time ever — a Republican in every elected office.

Increased GOP registration is not the measure of red.

MAGA is. GOPe from Calif filth could corrupt the results.

I know quite a few people from California that have moved there. I hope they don’t Californicate it the way they have done Oregon and Arizona and Colorado.

And yet here in CA Trump still got more than 6,000,000 votes in 2020. This fourth generation Californian is moving out on retirement

Boise took their silver pieces and started importing the Somalis. Where I live Californicators are everywhere. You know it’s doomed when the city council starts talking about “Bike lanes” “Green spaces” and Roundabouts.

Up here in Bonner Co. I can say about 3 out of 4 people that were not born here came from CA.

Unfortunately, not all communists here register as demonrats. Alot register at independent and republican so they can vote for the communist rinos in the primary.

*too many liberal republicans, including Congressman Simpson and Governor Little*

Simpson is 74. Aren’t here enough primary voters to throw him out?
Little is 70. That’s ok only because he’s governor. Let him be the good cop to the left.

Both Idaho senators are past the sell by date.
