I read something a while back that claimed it was first being worked on here in the states at a Texas lab during Obama. Things got scary with it so they transferred the project to China to finish it.

Sen. Rand Paul has never stepped inside a virology laboratory. I doubt he has ever read any research paper on virology. And I’ll bet any knowledge he has on the subject is rudimentary, at best.
Yet, he somehow is an authority on what it takes to actually *create* a virus? And, with his great (nonexistent) expertise, he is able to discern that the virology lab in Wuhan was working on *creating* a virus? Even though creating a virus that would have specific pathogenic properties is not possible with today’s technology.
We still do not understand the details of how the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes the pathologies we see with Covid infection. If we don’t even understand it, how can we possibly design it?

No, the research that the Wuhan lab did had nothing to do with creating a new pandemic virus. It was conducted for the purpose of determining which viruses already in circulation around Wuhan have the potential of infecting humans. This kind of research is conducted by scientists all over the world because of the great concern that we will be hit by another pandemic. Major pandemics have hit humans since before we recorded history, and they won’t stop just because we’re now “modern.”
John Solomon’s Sunday podcast (4/7) is on this topic. Dr. Malone and another scientist (Ivy League professor) were interviewed. Very good information.
