Florida no longer in play as a swing state as GOP voters surge over Dems by nearly 900K: DeSantis
MSN ^ | 4/8/2024 | Taylor Penley

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis believes Democrats don't stand a chance in the Sunshine State going forward. This comes as reports indicate registered GOP voters now outpace Democrats by nearly 900,000.

"You're talking about a million plus voter registration shift," DeSantis told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo, claiming older numbers indicated Republicans were behind their Democratic adversaries by nearly 300,000 registered voters in 2018.

"Part of that, I think, is a response locally where people are more likely to switch from Democrat to Republican in Florida, nonparty to Republican than vice-versa. That's been an important component of it, but I do think that migration has skewed amongst people who come to Florida, not because they want to change the policies to reflect in Illinois or California or New York, but because they appreciate how Florida has done it differently from where they're coming from."

Local reports have affirmed DeSantis' claims, including one report from USA Today that alluded to the state's former identity as the nation's most significant swing state, perhaps most notably for its role in the 2000 presidential matchup between George W. Bush and then-Vice President Al Gore.

"Republicans now hold the biggest advantage in voter registration either major party has held in almost four decades," the report read, noting that the GOP reached an 851,417-voter lead as of last month – the most significant lead by either of the two major parties since Democrats' dominance in the late 1980s.

The state's panhandle – a vibrantly red area – is suspected to further propel Republicans to victory this November, perhaps making Florida an "afterthought" as the report speculates.

DeSantis, with an X post last Thursday, cited local outlet Florida's Voice, who compiled the data indicating Republican support has climbed even further to 889,569 as of April 4.

According to the Florida Secretary of State there were 5,215,016 registered Republicans and 4,359,315 registered Democrats as of Feb 29, 2024.

But there is more to this story as I will post in the next thread.

Go to this link and see how the registration numbers have changed.

https://dos.fl.gov/elections/data-statistics/voter-registration-statistics/voter-registration-reports/voter-registration-by-party-affiliation/

In 2020 there were 5,218,739 Republicans and 5,315,954 Democrats.

In 2024 there are 5,215,016 Republicans and 4,359,315 Democrats.

So the reason for Republicans leading Democrats is that the Democrats have lost almost 1 million registrants.

How did that happen for the Democrats? Well, I believe Florida has been cleaning up the voter registration rolls in each of the 67 counties and invalid registrants have been removed and the Democrats had the most invalid registrants.

So what are the other states doing to clean up their voter registration rolls????????

I live in Florida, and I just hope that’s enough to defeat the misleading abortion amendment. Fortunately 60% is needed for passage.

In my state of Pennsylvania, the filthy scumbag democrats held a 1 million voter registration lead that has since dwindled to 450000.

The bulk of the Rat edge is still in Philadelphia. The Pittsburgh, Scranton, Allentown, Reading and Harrisburg areas have also shed a lot of Rat voters.

Would love to see this state dismantle the Rats in the state Supreme Court, which still causes a lot of malfeasance. A reckoning is coming.

Those numbers will magically flip when the votes are counted.

Thanks Jane,

The other thing I noticed is that Florida had 14,565,738 total registered voters in 2020 and as of Feb 29, 2024 Florida has 13,444,352 total registered voters.

This implies there has been a major cleanup of the voter registration rolls in the past four years.

Additionally, in the past four years at least a couple of million people have moved to Florida from Progressive States, so without a voter registration clean up, Florida would have something like 16 million registered voters today.

So what are the other 49 States and DC doing to clean up their voter registration rolls?

Yep, desanctimonious has been lying about any surge in new republican voter numbers.

But then, that's been typical of desanctus to lie about something and take credit for it.

Further more...

Voter Registration - New and Removed
Webpage last updated: March 29, 2024.

The chart below reflects the following:

New - the number of new voters added to the registration rolls. This number does not include pre-registrants who are persons who can apply to pre-register once they are 16 years of age or older.
Removed- Active – the number of active voters who were removed (reasons due to ineligible)
Removed –Inactive – the number of inactive voters removed.

Data as of February 29, 2024.

Year New1 Removed - Active2	Removed - Inactive3
2024	100,672 39,637 1
2023	493,132 268,521 16,827
2022	701,634 283,683 375,317
2021	582,363 326,077 155,813
2020	1,103,115	222,277 205,863
2019	634,982 232,544 203,460
2018	750,353 218,516 138,203
2017	448,209 237,708 222,220

https://dos.fl.gov/elections/data-statistics/voter-registration-statistics/voter-registration-reports/voter-registration-new-and-removed/ Going to the voters registered by party, notice the almost 500k drop in democrats registered between 2022 and 2024. Many of these likely represent voters that haven't voted for 2 federal election cycles... and thus likely got registered and voted in 2016

Florida hasn’t secured its elections.

It no longer about who votes.

It’s about who counts the votes.

So...the Dems will just ensure there’s an additional million Dem mail-in votes.

Problem solved.

Thanks Backpacker,

I had not seen this webpage before.

The numbers do not add up.

At the end of 2020 there were 14,565,738 registered voters.
At the end of Feb 2024 there were 13,444,352 registered voters. A drop of 1,121,386 registered voters.

However, in 2021,2022,2023, and 2024 YTD there have been 1,877,801 new registrants, 917,918 active registrant removals, and 547,958 inactive registrant removals. For a net gain of 411,925 registrants.

Am I missing something here?

Abortion on the ballot will nullify this advantage.“

And pot. Both are on the ballot. It is how the rats got total control of Mi. If the GOP was willing to conduct political war they would get these rat turnout props on the primary ballots but they won’t.

Yet abortion is on the ballot for November. Why not do it in an off year?

because you can be inactive, so take off the active list, but not yet removed.

It would help they listed the removals by party, so that would help identify the changes, but I guess they are afraid of discrimination lawsuits.
