Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh learns that three of his sons were killed and responds: “I thank Allah for the honor that my children and grandchildren have been martyred.” And therein lies the problem. A father should aspire for his children to live in peace, not die for jihad

Agreed. In the Quran, Moo-ham-ad said that even if you're a very good Muslim and do your appropriate violence and rape and stealing and lying and such to please Allah, there's still no guarantee you'll get into Heaven. Because Allah still can decide who gets in or out based on his whim. The only exception to that is if you kill someone for the purpose of jihad. Then you're guaranteed to get in.

In the Life of Mohammad (a haddith) a follower asks, “How many people can Paradise hold?”

Mohammad answers, “72,000”

A huge, very big number for the time.
