It was given to his second wife Jill. The one who used to be the nanny for his kids. She was given the Corvette as a prize in some kind of educational program.
Now, back to when she was just the nanny. First wifey came home and found Joe and Jill doing the wild thing. Their marriage had been on the rocks, and she had turned to alcohol to dull her senses. She went off on Jill, blaming her for using her younger body's attraction to steal Joe. That's when Jill told her about Joe taking showers with her daughter. Full of rage, she grabbed the kids and shoved them in the car and took off for her mother's house. Between the drinking and her focus on only one thing, getting to her mother's as quickly as possible, she didn't see the red light.
She was killed and so were two of their children. Hunter saw all this. He saw his father diddling the nanny, and his siblings die, his mother die, and yet his father got away with it all and became rich and powerful. Sooner or later boys become a chip off the old block.
Now you know why Hunter turned into a ruthless traitor who was banging hookers and exposing himself to his niece. The apple didn't fall very far from the tree.
