Yeah, it would be terrible to have Hakeem Jeffries. He might reauthorize 702 domestic spying, build the FBI a new a HQ, and pass a gigantic porkulous budget bill that breaks the bank. Oh wait…

I still think there is a difference. YMMV.

If you don’t punish these people they will never change.

Bye bye Mike Johnson. Hello Speaker Haleem Jeffries.

Maybe we'll stop having Paul Ryan clones after we get rid of this Speaker.

The FBI showed Johnson what they have on him

This. There are consequences when you are ostensibly a married heterosexual, living a lie.

This is like when Harvey Weinstein was trying to prevent his downfall, and promised to devote the rest of his life to defeating the NRA.

Even Leftists said, forget it Harvey. Go to jail !

I'm not especially upset about this because I no longer have any illusions that one can rise to a senior political office without Deep State approval. Johnson is the best we are likely to get - absent a huge surge in new MAGA Republican representatives.

In retrospect, purging McCarthy should have waited until January, 2025. It did more harm than good - because the double agents made sure it would.

I understand our frustration, but Jeffries would also replace every committee chair and make sure no legislation advancing ANY conservative principles ever makes it even out of a committee to the floor for a vote. Have you stopped to consider how much legislation a Democrat House, Senate, and President could pass into law before January?

That’s not an outcome any of us want.

I am no longer sure it makes any difference.

The Democrats always get what they want, even when they are in the minority positions. The Republicans always cave to Democrat pressure.

Not sure why the kerfuffle over Johnson supporting this bill.

Has Speaker Johnson EVER indicated that he would not support an extension of this part of FISA?

When?

So glad it passed. Changes will come...but not at this time.

But in a world where we communicate "by air", this is a necessity. Can it be abused?? With or without it...abuse is always there.

In the meantime, I'm glad it passed. And Johnson did NOT cast the deciding vote.
