She’s a nutjob but all these felony charges are overkill.

I think they just wanted to get her attention.

I doubt they'll actually prosecute her, but they'll make her sweat for awhile.

I live in another at least plurality Republican County in CA. I dare say Kern County has a bigger crime problem than we do, but to a large extent these interior relatively conservative counties are strict on law and order to make it clear to the animals and lunatics in the nearby big counties that they need to play in their own backyards and not come make trouble in ours. It’s not overkill: each threatened official is one count. My prediction because it is a first offense is 12 or 18 months local time plus 5 years formal probation. Criminal protective order will mirror the temporary orders now in place
