President Biden is hoping to avoid an all-out eruption in the Middle East after Iran sent hundreds of missiles and drones, nearly all of them intercepted, toward Israel in retaliation for an attack on an Iranian facility in Damascus that took out a top general.
Biden now has to convince Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other allies not to escalate tensions in the region that have become beyond frayed since the start of the war in Gaza in October. Biden reportedly told Israel’s leader that the U.S. would not participate in any offensive operations against Iran going forward.

If he really wanted to “avoid wider war,” he would return to the sanctions in place on January 19, 2020.
Sometimes the right thing to do is to do nothing.
I did not like fighting when I was a kid and thus was picked on a lot. I finally lost my temper and took the kid down and was trying to choke him to death. Fortunately others pulled me off of him. The bullying stopped that day.

Last month, the administration shipped over 1,800 2,000-pound MK84 bombs and 500 500-pound MK82 bombs to the Israelis. The former have, according to a Washington Post report, “been linked to previous mass-casualty events throughout Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.”
To give a sense of proportionality, consider that the US dropped a total of one 2,000 pound bomb during its campaign against ISIS. Israel has dropped hundreds on Gaza. Meanwhile, Biden is currently lobbying Congress for an $18 billion arms transfer that would send dozens of F-15 fighter jets to Israel.
Yeah - I just don’t seek “American Conservative” as anything remotely what its name implies - it has little credibility. Israel is doing far less than what the US has done in their own retaliatory strikes against hard-core islamic terrorists... Of which Gaza/Hamas is a hotbed (of Iranian terrorism).

In the broader sense, when Israel responds, they will more than likely, attack Iran’s oil refiner’s. This will cause gas prices to sky rocket the lies of which have never been seen before.
NOT because we get oil from Iran, but because of Biden’s executive orders tamping down on OUR ability to extract our OWN petroleum.
This will cause Israel to become a pariah among the nations.
I suspect that this is Biden’s intent.
