The November election will go far better for MAGA if Jefferies as Speaker was doing everything to the Republican base that Johnson is doing.
I don’t think we want a Democrat as House Speaker, but then I can’t figure out WHAT the Republicans want as a speaker. Most days it seems to me that the only good candidates for the job are the ones who won’t run for it.

My theory for what it’s worth: A few republicans quit in September thereby turning the house over to the democrats. It will be just in time to steer the election in their favor by shutting down all investigations.
