A federal appeals court on Tuesday overturned the West Virginia law banning transgender girls from playing on girls' sports teams, finding that it violates Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools. The ruling comes amid a wave of anti-trans legislation cropping up across the country, as well as efforts to fight back against it.
The ban in West Virginia was originally signed into law by Gov. Jim Justice in 2021, and introduced as the "Save Women's Sports Act." It required that any official or unofficial school-sanctioned event involving athletics determine each athlete's participation in the event "based on the athlete's biological sex as indicated on the athlete's original birth certificate issued at the time of birth," effectively barring transgender students from participating.
The ruling from the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the law cannot lawfully be applied to a 13-year-old girl who has been taking puberty-blocking medication and publicly identified as a girl since she was in the third grade.

Okay fine, then apply Title IX in the same manner it was applied to girls/women’s sports since 1972: if you can find enough Transgender students to field a team for a particular sport, then you can play that sport... against other transgenders.
It’s never been boys vs. girls. That’s not what the proponents of Title IX were after... they just wanted to get statutory support for women’s athletics. Separating teams by gender (or by extension ‘transgender’), therefore, is not a discriminatory practice.
In a way, I hope more courts rule the same way as the Virginia appeals court.
That way, transsexuals will overwhelm girls’ sports teams, and girls’ sports will disappear. Who will get the blame then? Girls and women will have to rebel against DEI and democrat policies which caused the demise of women’s sports. And hopefully women will turn against democrats everywhere.
If more people would actively speak out about this instead of letting insane morons hold the floor we might get somewhere. First, anyone who espouses such notions as “transgender” should be escorted to the parking lot.
Girls simply need to walk away from any team or league that allows trans and start a new team or league that doesn’t allow trans.
Whoever this idiot Judge is, he needs to be punched in the mouth repeatedly.

That law did not entitle sex-confused persons, nor any LGBT+ persons to Title IX protections, no matter how many judges try to pretend it did.

END women’s sports PERIOD! Its ALREADY happened.

So according to the appeals court reasoning and ruling, any male cannot be prohibited from taking part in female sports. Is that what they want?

No one is going to save women. They will have to do it themselves. I can’t believe they are so passive.
Exactly. Title IX was established when I was in high school. It was established to give young women the equal opportunity and funding in sports as young men had. So ladies could compete against ladies in athletics. I can still remember the name of the first girl’s basketball coach at Wamego High School.
