A quick internet search reveals who was responsible for Milley’s appointment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
President Donald Trump nominated Mark Miley for confirmation by the Senate as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump’s Secretary of Defense, and the outgoing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, had recommended Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein for the Chairman job but Trump chose Milley over the recommendation of his own advisors.
All Republican U.S. Senators voted to confirm Milley. Only one Senate Democrat voted against Milley.
Voters will have the opportunity to vote on the person responsible for Milley’s appointment in the upcoming November election just as they did in November 2020.
